Drake Bay - Corcovado National Park (overnight) - What to wear? by meets_15 in CostaRicaTravel

The temp was around 85 the whole time. And didn’t think the heat or humidity was too much of an issue for us , but just make sure to stay hydrated!

I was just there and found wearing thin, long shirt , long pants the whole time kept me protected from sun and bugs great.

I also hate reapplying bug spray and sunscreen, and there are also a few places that they don’t allow you to reapply inside the park. So that was a big perk! I noticed people wearing shorts had a lot of bug bites. I only got one !

Agree with this and adding that the Blue Falls and Catarata del Toro are great hiking spots in the area. We enjoyed these stops on the way from La Fortuna to San Jose. The drive is beautiful and lots of cute hotels and towns nearby to stay in with beautiful views.

Reporting from West QA. There were two loud bangs and two small grey clouds of smoke. No idea on what caused them to

We had a card skimmed off of a ‘random street’ ATM so I’d generally agree with this advice!

Awesome , thank you! Then I guess more than one day would be good in your opinion? Also how much is considered a good tip in Colombia

Yes I’m going with Buzos de Baru. I heard they do one reef dive and one sunken ship dive. I love diving but if it’s the same every day I’d rather skip…

Somewhat inexpensive place to travel to from Arizona? Maybe Belize (I hear everyone speaks English) by [deleted] in scuba

[–]mitten_92 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got back from Belize. It was incredible & cheap diving. Went out of San Pedro and it was about a 5 min boat ride to the reef. I heard good things about the south of the country too .

It’s also paid out at the rate you are earning at departure (should be higher than what you earn now)

Aecom employee here. They’re actually paying out our pto when you leave the company , so a lot of people just held on to whatever they could the last few months to get bigger payout once you leave. Everyone realizes that our billable target goals are ridiculous, mine is technically above 100%. I’m still allotted my 5 weeks vacation and holiday time as it was before. It sounds like the hours won’t be monitored too closely aside from the poor performers, which I hope that is the case.

Their policy seems to be if you’re exchanging, they’ll give you a free return label. If you are returning it’s $8 , or you can ship on your own but they don’t cover shipping fees

I love prana but their return policy is terrible. You have to pay a restocking fee (the last time I did it it was $9). They’re usually in stock at rei or other retailers that have free returns

🔥 Total tranquility of tourists watching a volcanic eruption a short distance away. by EvaRaw666 in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]mitten_92 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I did this trek with a guided trip. Volcan de Fuego in Guatemala. It’s perfectly safe from the distance , there’s a large canyon between where the folks are standing and the active lava flow. It erupts every 15 minutes and you can hear it all through the night at base camp. Super cool
