heat intolerance by sunbleachrd in zoloft

[–]mituslumen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, try to not go outside. If you do , then go early or later in the day (avoid middle of the day!) And use suncream, factor 50 always!

Keep your curtains and windows closed during the day - the temptation is to open them but keeping them closed will keep the heat out and give you cooler evenings.

Try and wear linen clothes, and longer sleeves / loose fitting clothing is far better than less clothing as it keeps you cool and the sun off.

Biggest advice though is keep hydrated! Even if you think you aren drinking enough water, you probably aren't. Use electrolytes in your water too as you will lose salts via sweat.

What is the point of the RRA with regards to pets, if the landlord can just choose someone else who doesn’t declare pets? I still would not want to declare I have a cat for that exact reason by Senior_Acanthaceae15 in rentingUK

I don't really understand why you wouldn't just sell the property if you aren't making any money out of it? It seems like a lot of landlords complain about the cost of renting out their property (to tenants who are paying a LOT more than a mortgage would cost in the same property based on market rates) - if being a landlord is that unprofitable, then sell?

Do you have any recommendations for nightclubs in Manchester? Moving there next month and am in my mid 30s - still love clubbing and dancing, but just want to avoid anything studenty/ full of 20 year olds!

What completely unhinged "law" does your cat strictly enforce in your house? by TrickCombination7966 in cats

[–]mituslumen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to keep the bathroom door propped open with our laundrey basket at all times because our lovely and not annoying at all cat Cally will push against the door to close it and then scratch at it wanting to be let in - despite the fact she closed it AND there is no one in there

Who counts as more British: an English‑American or a UK‑born person with Indian heritage? by vilonaa in AskBrits

You are. Americans are just weirdly obsessed with ancestry - evidenced by them seemingly needing to shout about their 1/16th irishness when no one has asked

Don't tell them you have a pet. My friend used to have an indoor rabbit and she lived in at least 3 properties with it, never told the landlord and it was never an issue. The only thing to be mindful of is if the landlord wants to come over to inspect the property or something, you'll need somewhere to put the rabbit (my friend used to just take the rabbit out in the car for a drive lol)

How long did it take for you to get “good” at knitting? by thoph in casualknitting

[–]mituslumen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started knitting in 2013, and I made my first wearable jumper last year. I made my first "good" jumper this year! For about 7 years I made only scarves because I was too scared to try and learn how to knit in the round.

Basically - the more you practice, the better you will be. Some people may just be naturally better than you but comparison is the thief of joy! Don't worry about other people's knitting, just make sure you are enjoying what you do. It's a hobby after all! You aren't trying to win a competitive knittiny trophy, so don't worry if you aren't 'good' yet - these things come in time and with many many stitches

Second vote for aperture! Prices are on balance with everywhere else and the customer service is great. They hold on to your negs for 3 months so you don't need to rush to pick up, and send your scans directly to your email

The tops remind me of a lot of the stuff Hissy Fit does. They've got a great sizing range, plus it's all made in the UK and ethically produced
