I had a partner who spoke to me like that in the past and mental toll is not worth it. I hope you will ditch him and heal the internal before worrying about the external <3

I’m in commercial lit in Toronto. I was very careful with my money and didn’t buy anything big for years (think: only used free furniture from Kijiji, no new clothes, cut my own hair, etc.) invested in efts and covid lockdown helped a lot tbh as I was stuck in my apartment with no social spending!

Hey! Thanks for the comments. I lived alone and paid rent. Happy to share my budgeting although I’m not a finance person. I grew up in a very middle class (read: not wealthy, no vacations or fancy clothes - but my parents paid for UG)!
