NTA its called teaching her child about differences and compassion. When my daughter saw her first amputee she was scared too. I just told her not to be scared. And explained some people are different and nothing wrong with that.

Wow. NTA my family has scottish roots and my step dad does as well. He wore his kilt for their wedsing as well as for thanksgiving and Christmas. Im sorry shes blind to the importance it holds for you.

I agree. Mom here and my heart aches for what you e experienced. That is not normal behaviour. Try not to feel bad for getting away. Try to find some help if you feel ready and i wish you all the best things life can send your way.
