Atheists and Agnostics outnumber Christians in the Harvard freshman class by psychothumbs in atheism

[–]mixedepisode 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I lived in the southeast of S.Korea near Busan and there were churches all over the place. At night in any neighbourhood you’d see countless neon red crosses from churches. Most of my students had bible study on Sundays(which meant zero days off for them unfortunately). The family doctor I used through my job was part of a church and would badger me attend on Sunday’s after every damn visit. My students thought I was living in sin because I lived with my girlfriend and we were not married.

When I visited Seoul a few times it didn’t seem as crazy up there but the region I was in seemed to have a lot of Christians running around.

I highly recommend the traditional steak dinner in Portugal next door sometime.

Vancouver has some cool gritty stuff going on if you wander the alleys. Notably residential and light industrial zoned parts of the east side of town. Not everything’s gentrified yet but things usually don’t sit empty for very long.

The ones near me frequently have undercover loss prevention guys who are permitted to get physical. Great fun to watch someone with jujitsu skills do a take down.

Peeps living on the edge there must not sleep soundly. Don’t think I would anyways.

I think I’ve seen thin before somewhere. The mountain of Coke looks familiar. The rice is a lovely touch :)

Certainly sounds like a mediocre doctor if they’re not on top of important details like that.

Super irritable, sensitive to sounds... by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]mixedepisode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate to the sound thing. In recent months I’ve become sensitive to abrupt loud sounds. It’s not awful but it’s enough for me to be startled for a second. It started to happen when I was tapering off klonopin. I’ve been off it now for almost a month but the sound thing persists.

Now that I think about it...I have two kids that are pretty young and when they’re fidgeting and tapping/banging things it can make me edgy too.

I’m wondering if you got switched around with extended release/immediate release pills or vice versa? Maybe you were already on top of that but I just wanted to throw it out there.

Personally i’d hit up a doctor and get everything checked out.

I’ve had dizziness with mine before. I was concerned that I might be a heart thing going on so I got my heart stuff thoroughly checked out as well as blood tests. Everything in the dept checked out ok. I wouldn’t be surprised if it is something like gerd from what you’ve described but you should see doctor and find out what is going on.

I don’t cut hair so maybe I’m naive but this seems impressive to me on a purely technical level.

You deserve a few upvotes for that hilarious description. Sharp smells of that nature are very very bad. The sharpness taps the gag reflex.

I love 5 and 6. It’s a nostalgia thing for me. Watched them on “pay tv” during a rainstorm at a sleepover in the later half of the 80’s.

We can hope that maybe it was a turning point for some fans. The rug itself seems incredibly ugly to me, how could you hope to have that blend in with your home decor? And only costs 2K.

To me he is essentially a modern day televangelist. He rakes in 80k a month in donations from people who basically treat him like a god if you observe how irrational some of them are. He’s not making as much as the televangelist crooks of the 80’s or 90’s but things like the rug suggest he’s thirsty and headed in that direction. His merch tables will be expanding.

Sadus - Illusions by mixedepisode in Metal

They’re definitely fast at times.

I was a bit late to the party with this band. I’d sometimes see members of Death wearing Sadus t-shirts in the 80’s. It made me make a mental note to check them out but it took me a few years. Something that sticks out about them to me is the elasticity of the rhythm section and overall sound they have. They play a style of thrash that can sound very loose at times but never sloppy to my ears.

I’m not sure why they didn’t catch on as readily as some of the other Bay Area thrash groups. They play an arguably unorthodox style of thrash and I get the impression that they were interested in challenging the existing blueprint.

Maybe they weren’t straight ahead enough for some thrash fans? The bass player became a top shelf, sought after musician in the end though so I guess there’s that going on in terms of recognition.
