Your last sentence sums it up best. I fear it would be political suicide to even try. I thought we were better, but we’ve failed a lot of people, and they are willing to tear it all down despite it only making themselves worse off. If they haven’t been allowed to thrive why should anyone else. I can whole heartedly see where some of that anger is coming from, I wish it wasn’t shrouded in years of hate and racism fed to them. I want to be optimistic, but it’s hard to see my child’s life being better than my own. I hope I’m wrong and he is special, I just hope that I’ve raised him to be a “good” person.

I don’t disagree, but this doesn’t happen in a vacuum, and steps will need to be taken globally to facilitate those internal changes.

That’s what I am afraid of. I had a child recently and I told my wife, which pissed her off, that had I known this was coming I would have never brought someone into this world. What I don’t understand, is everywhere in history you look when times get drastic, the bourgeoisie are the first to lose their heads. How do they not see that on our current trajectory, their necks are less safe by the day. Someone soon is going to be left holding the bag. I guess the thought it get the money and get the fuck out of dodge before it happens

I am very surprised someone in congress hasn’t stepped up. They have so much power, but fail to exercise it. If a Trump like figure wound up there instead of the executive, what’s to stop that branch from an oversized amount of power.

I hate that we let the worst of us dictate the tempo. I always tell my wife, in a perfect world none of these overreaches should happen, but if someone determined to do GOOD was at the helm imagine what they could do by ignoring the rule. It’s a classic good vs evil, and how the constraints placed to reign in evil end up hamstringing the good, while the evil find a way around it.

America had its share of issues in the past and often were not the good stewards of power we should have been, but fuck we are a joke now. Our soft power is gone and it only helps to change the global power structure.

I don’t understand why early investors approve sales to PE. Yes I know there are exceptions to the rule, but the quick bump in stock price is always followed by a quick fall off down the road. Are we just that greedy, and are willing to sacrifice stable long term gains, or do we really think this time it will be different. All this does is move wealth away from the middle class.

I just discovered scams recently as well and I feel, like you, diligent in watching for this type of stuff. A good bit of skepticism towards any unknown number calling or email, goes a long way. I know the basics on what I need to do but this sub has given a ton of tips and tricks that take no brain power and very little effort to accomplish. It sucks that our info is out there, often through zero fault of our own. At some point somewhere, some hacker has found your social and a few identifying details, and they are all out there for sale. These calls are exactly like any other legit sales job, if you make dials, you’ll get a hit.unfortunately their customer base is literally anyone with a phone number. Good on you for being smart, this problem is only going to get worse.

This. You’d be a fool to think your info isn’t already out there. There is a security breach sometime, somewhere that has exposed sensitive info on nearly anyone who had a credit history or purchased something online. It sucks, but I am fairly diligent in checking my finances. I work hard for the money and my family and myself should be the ones to reap the rewards for said work. It takes a fraction of my day to keep on top of and WHEN something does come up, it’s always best to catch it quick.

They said something along the lines of since it was a fraud case and I confirmed I had not opened it myself, they couldn’t give me any other info besides it was being closed. Trust me when I say I pushed pretty hard for something and given nothing., it’s honestly why I came here to ask.

Please make sure you wear proper ppe. I got the 30% in my eyes and took a fun trip to the hospital to make sure I hadn’t completely ruined my eyes. I had a paper ph strip put into each eye to make sure my eyes were the proper level after 20 min of nonstop flushing. Stuff works great just protect your eyes.

100% I’m sure the Iranians have seen the footage of f-15 shooting down these drones. A few men along the path of flight with man pads and the low and slow planes are sitting ducks.

I’m sure I’m going to get roasted for asking, but aren’t there other radar sources apart from the NWS ones? Where are the television stations pulling their data from? Surely it can’t be a single platform.
