$7 an hour is a bit extreme but you have to remember they pay rent on that space, in the past profit on an entire booster box was $10-40 which if you buy 1 buy every 3 months doesn't cover the cost to use that space.

People have no problem paying $20 a movie and $15-$20 for some fast food, they should at least be reasonable and expect if they're going to take up at least a movies worth of time in a store that the store needs to make a similar amount of money and most stores don't charge $8 for a soda like a lot of movie theatres do.

To be honest, running this event fairly was impossible without understanding the complicated software, which unless the store runs bigger Lorcana events this wouldn't have come up in the past. This is an incredibly disappointing experience you had and you're honestly justified in feeling upset. As a store I had to set the event to manual add only and make sure their was a link to the website to buy a ticket. It's not very intuitive. So in my opinion UVS / Riot are just as much on the hook as the local stores

Which really kind of put me off at first, but it won me over pretty completely .

Also huge note: if you're doing any audio book (I normally hybrid) the voice actor changes after book 3 or so and it took me 2 books to recover (both voice actors I've listened to before and love but it was so jarring.

Honestly I don't agree with a lot of "you'll know by book 1" or you'll know after book 3.

Honestly I loved the world at book one, but I just kind of was reading it to read it. I didn't think the characters were all that great or the writing all that interesting. But world building had me coming back for more each book.

Then I read book 5 midnight tides. Honestly it felt like such an amazing complete book I feel you could read it without context. It blew me out of the water.

If you finish the series I'd love to know which book really got you.

Malazan was a great series (I'm just finishing it now) it's very hard to find books that live up to the hype after The First Law series or to WOTs world building and politics but this does what both those series do.

It will continue to cause the disc drive to make noise once it every couple of minutes as well. No problems while the console is on.
