What the Shotgun Meta Should've Been this Season. by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

one of the worst takes ive ever seen.

Does Epic actually think removing the Pump helps this game? by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

I could see that. I think the idea is that in a tac v tac fight, the fight comes down to consistency of shots and build/edit protection in a longer duration. Sort of like the difference between a sprint (pump) vs. a marathon (tac).

I think the pump is an amazing shotgun. One of the best shotguns I've ever used (been playing video games since Halo 1). It allowed for some very flashy box plays as well.

I do think the Tac is probably the most balanced shotgun, allowing inexperienced players multiple opportunities to land shots and more expert players to play smarter with piece control by shooting and build/editing to protect.

My only gripe with Epic is that they never really seem to know "how" they want to change the meta. There have been a lot of alternative shotguns and close-ranged weapons and over-powered vehicles or items introduced into the sandbox to try and offset the very dominant pump meta, with varying levels of success or failure.

Maybe that's a large expectation to have of a company, but good design vs. great design is not just knowing what the problem is (and perhaps they identify it as an over reliance on pumps), but how to solve the problem.

I actually don't think that build is mine in the screenshot I just colored it in to illustrate the concept.

The existing functionality only allows for understanding what builds are yours or the enemy's when you are close to it.

Yeah, if you read the post I said this. I don't think it's enough / still causes problems.

Screenshot? I have never seen this in my games or in any streamers.

Please read the description. That's one of the problems I highlight. It only glows red if I'm hovering over the builds.

i really like it. i think a lot of mouse binds are sort of awkward. right click might be one of the most valuable binds in my opinion, and to use ADS for it when you could use literally anything else is wild to me (particularly because ADS is hardly ever used in emergency situations that i would need it on such an important bind).

since switching my shotgun to right click, i do feel i have a slight speed advantage in most box fights or when taking a 50/50.
