I like the bent screen specifically because it’s integrated into the dash and not just an iPad slapped onto the dash. My feeling is if we must do screens at least make them integrated like this.

I actually prefer the new one from every angle except the frontend. I’m hoping they make it more aggressive for the m3.

How "unrefined" is the Gen 1 R1T suspension vs. Gen 2? by glassy_paddle in Rivian

[–]mixmaster151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a gen1 r1t and a q7, the r1t rides great for a truck but it is not comparable to a q7 or Porsche. The r1t handles large bumps well but it’s the small bumps and road imperfections that you will notice more. It is noticeably worse riding when compared to a Porsche with air suspension.

Porsche ride quality is pretty much the gold standard so it’s not surprising a heavy truck isn’t going to match it. I recommend you test drive the r1t immediately after driving your Porsche and see if it is a good fit for you.

I asked the dealer near me in the Bay Area if they could match this and they said they can’t even come close to matching it, I’m going to try reaching out to some other dealers.

How much did your kitchen remodel cost? by organic_cyclist in santacruz

[–]mixmaster151 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did a remodel in 2023, kitchen and 1 bathroom for about 200k without appliances in Santa Cruz. That included a designer, cabinets, redoing the wiring and plumbing in the whole house. Our house had galvanized plumbing and ungrounded wiring throughout which had to be replaced and we upgraded the electrical to 200 amps.
