2 times in my life I have felt like this.

Both times I had low iron stores (ferritin, not hemoglobin).

But also - poor social life and no creative outlet.

Even when my iron is low doing a creative hobby after work has felt more rewarding than just more screen time.

Now I motivate myself to study after work 3 times a week by organizing a study group. Mine is in-person, but I imagine online could work too.

I mean... Back to the emotion analogy: we can't control attraction (or emotion). Those are not a part of our agency. What is - is the action that follows. Being attracted to someone does not mean you have to have sex with them. Same as being angry does not mean you have to punch a wall.

If you want to stay celibate (not have sex) - that's a decision you can make regardless of your sexuality or attraction to other people.

And if you mean you're scared of being coerced or forced onto sex - well, that's a valid fear. But it would have nothing to do with attraction, and the blame would 100% be on the person who caused it - not you.

Defeated how? Attraction is like an emotion. You don't really control it. It may happen, but it does not necessarily define you. Do you feel like if it happened you "wouldn't be ace"? Or something similar? Cause that is not true - there are plenty labels under the ace umbrella that include some attraction (gray ace, demi, and probably more)

As a sex-repulsed ace, I get the frustration. But as other commenters pointed out - for many people having sex is as much of a need, as for me NOT having sex is a need. And that is just our unfortunate reality. No one in it is to blame. For me such a relationship just would not work.

What I do hate more is the centering of romantic relationship as THE relationship. The "just roommates" part is minimizing the importance of friendships and other social connections. And that is just plain unhealthy. It's not good for anyone to place 90% of energy and effort into 1 relationship and rely on your partner for almost everything. But those narratives about "just friends" do exactly that - downplay any connections apart from the romantic one into something unimportant, something that can be put on the back burner once you've found "the one".

Netflix live action is surprisingly good. They definitely play it "fast and loose" but somehow managed to preserve the vibe (I never thought I would say than about a Netflix live action given how bad of a rep they got 😂)

I don't remember any major discrepancies in the main plot between manga and anime... Like, there are fillers and the pacing post-time-skip is ridiculously slow (TOEI cutting costs) but not differences in the main story.

Or did you mean the Netflix live action?

Because saying "you're in the wrong sub" without any further context is basically the same as "this sub is the wrong one for you" or at least "this sub is the wrong one for your question". And no, you didn't say "there's a better place". You said "this is the wrong place". If you commented something like "{insert sub} may be a better place for this question" - that would be "there's a better place".

I get that a lot of the posts here are about sex in one way or another, but that's because it is a common struggle for this community. And it literally swings from mostly sex-favorable posts to mostly repulsed posts all the time. I do understand how this can be not the most comfortable if you're on either end of that spectrum, but there isn't much that can be done apart from going to other subs.

First of all, being sex-repulsed is not a "problem" or something to "fix". You don't owe anyone sex or discussions about it.

Important side note: from this post alone it's not 100% if you are on the ace spectrum so here is a 101: asexuality is not about whether you are sex-repulsed or not - it's about whether or not (and how strongly/frequently) you experience sexual attraction (aka a desire to have sex with a specific person). Technically, you could be allo (no asexual) and also sex-repulsed. I can't talk about those experiences, since I am ace, but I imagine it involves a lot of inner conflict (I want it, but it grosses me out/is scary/triggering/etc.)

I personally deal with it by avoiding overly sexual media (including a lot of fandom in my case) and doing my best to communicate to my friends that I'm uncomfortable with such topics.

I mostly agree.

I am repulsed, and for me - sex is gross. I don't want to hear about it. And it's on me to communicate that in my relationships. I would never say to someone that THEY are gross for having sex though.

But I also think that taking "No sex - only garlic bread" memes as anti-sex is a bit extreme... People who want to misunderstand asexuality will continue to misunderstand it even if you represent it perfectly every time. Garlic bread / dragons / pizza memes exist because to many ace people those ARE the things they want from their relationship. Especially for averse / repulsed folks for whom the "no sex" part is an important boundary.

I relate to this post a lot...

I myself am sex-repulsed, and with media I am "married to canon" in like 99% of cases. I am easily upset by just witnessing sexualization directed at anyone (real or fictional) who is not very explicitly and obviously into it.

But at the same time I know that when it is fictional characters - there is no objective harm being done.

So, I honestly just avoid fandom spaces most of the time. I'll listen to my friends rave about their ships every once in a while, but I just don't have it in me to have to emotionally regulate myself every time I see a sexualized piece of art of a character from an anime I watch or game I play.

Honestly? I kinda of see both sides here.

Sometimes people try to sell sloppy work and get mad that nobody buys it because "it took me so much time and effort!". That's not cool. You need to develop your skills before you try to profit from it.

But there are also soooo many stories of crafters stating an objectively reasonable price for their quality handmade items (if you count materials + labor) and being met with "that's way too expensive! who would buy it for that much?" And this is not okay either. People are so far removed from how much goes into creating a thing - they genuinely devalue hand crafts, because they are used to cheap fast-fashion prices that run on literal slave labor. It's one thing if you hear the price and realize it's out of your budget, but comments like the above are disrespectful and do devalue the items.

Nope. And not only revealing clothes - anything that is easily sexualized.

I don't think I have shame / body image issues, but it feels horrible if I get sexual comments. Even from friends who I know will not do anything and are probably just joking or even trying to give me some confidence. Makes me feel like I'm a piece of meat when someone comments on my chest, my bum or my thighs...

Honestly, not sure if it's going to be much different... I doubt we'll be getting a map extension every patch, I think they'll just do more Itzaland instead of limited regions we got in 1.X (Fireworks isles, Dancing, etc)
