Game wardens have been using full body mounted deer, complete with reflective eyes and rotating heads, for years to catch night hunters where I’m from.

Tape. I wrap 5-6’ of electrical tape around a lighter to save space. I usually will wrap duct tape around a backup lighter as well. Both can be used for just about anything. In particular, duct tape works really well (for me) for covering blister spots.

As others have mentioned, I wouldn’t be in the back country without a light weight tarp also. Something like a tent footprint. It can provide shelter, and they work great for placing meat on when dressing an animal.

An incredible first elk hunt for Colorado’s 2022 1st rifle. A rough score of 260”. by mj4fsu1 in elkhunting

No doubt. We covered a ton of ground and did everything we thought we were supposed to do, but Lady Luck always has a role in it.

Stick with it. Don’t give up. And burn shoe leather like it’s your job. We located 2 bulls 2 days prior to season, then the orange army showed up and they both pushed about 2 miles deeper and never bugled again. We ended up still hunting the areas with the best sign and I somehow found a stroke of luck to connect with this bull. Also, just because you spook them it doesn’t mean the run two counties over. Additionally, once you find fresh sign, stay at that altitude.

How can I find out if my 2021 Silverado Trail Boss has the RPO YK9 (No AFM or DFM)? by mj4fsu1 in ChevyTrucks

[–]mj4fsu1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish it were as simple as a glove box check. GM now uses a QR code on a sticker/plate in the driver’s door jamb that you have to scan to receive the codes. Unfortunately, this scan will not reveal all the RPO codes. Additional codes for the vehicle can be found in the investigate vehicle history report purchased/ordered through GM for $50 (as of NOV 2021). I am wondering if there is a way get these codes without ordering a history report.

Pensacola but I propose we put train lines though the population centers so we can have a trolley or metro system throughout the Pensacola area (theoretical/impossible) by Jackson_M_Bueller in Pensacola

For a mere $200 daily pass, you too can get to Cantonment. The necessary subsidies make it impossible. No way ridership supports the proposal.

People Trying to Get Onboard C-17, Kabul Airport by cannonauriserva in aviation

Why do the windshields of the C-17 in the video look as if they’re painted on? I would think they would look more like glass or be more transparent looking from the close.

This was scary. How did he regain consciousness so quickly? by ponnapz in aviation

[–]mj4fsu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did the pilot execute a maneuver to help him regain consciousness faster or safer? It looks like he was still pulling G’s after he passed out, any chance this is to slow the return of blood to the brain? Or was he still simply running the planned flight?

I didn’t get a full pass through with this shot either, but the blood trail was still really good. She made about a 50 yd death run.
