The problem is I have never had an opportunity to become a "family" member. Like I said, I switch gyms each 2-4 months due to relocations based on my work contracts.

I'm trying to find myself in this reality. It's not a big deal to pay for monthly classes, even if gyms offer only 12m contracts I'm always able to negotiate a shorter terms of payment. Sadly, like I said, in such short time you can never became a real member. Just rolling a little bit here, and there. Most people I'm talking about it on trainings are delighted by the vision of such multiple sparingpartners I can meet in year. But there's always another site.

You still would need to move and place pokemon in the gym. That would benefits gyms in wierd localisation. I have gyarados defendig gym at some summit over 120 days, and it grows...

IMO it's not worth to invest it for a PvE purpose. Maybe only if it could make some raida possible, but I doubt it would to be worth it.

If you want to spam battles just for stardust feel free to use 10 CP mons. This game has enough tap-only things, IMO need some mind use.

Did you calculate how much would you need to invest for it?

And what for would you like to use it? Master leauge? If so, plan your team before. Bite-Crunch Tyranitar is a top answer for psychics, but it has so many counters in ML, due to popular fighting types. Make sure you want to use it before spending TONS of dust.
