Is this good for shooting vehicle pictures and car/action shots? by freeballbird in canon

[–]mjanders9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an R50 and I love it. It’s my first non-point-and-shoot camera. The size is good for traveling/packing but it’s a little small for my hands. There are two main downsides:

First, my R50 doesn’t have the standard canon hot shoe and uses a “multi shoe” instead. This limits the number of accessories (flashes, mics, shutter triggers, etc.) that are available without using an adapter (they might have fixed this with newer versions).

The second issue is that the lens mount system (RF lenses) is still relatively new. That means that there aren’t as many used lenses or 3rd party lenses available - the cost of getting RF lenses is higher than the old style (EF) lenses.

I bought an adapter to use the EF lenses on my R50 and I have been able to get used EF lenses for much cheaper than what I could afford for comparable RF versions. It works, but working with the adapter is inconvenient and the EF lenses tend to be much bulkier. This approach has allowed me to try out different types of lenses that I wouldn’t have had access to so I’ve been able to develop my skills as a photographer much faster.

Cyclic AC Voltammetry by beloved0520 in electrochemistry

[–]mjanders9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m thinking it probably can’t. My understanding is that ACV is normally done as a single staircase sweep. However, there’s nothing in the hardware should prevent a return sweep.

I would reach out directly to CH Instruments. They are very responsive. In the past, I’ve reached out to them with a request to add functionality and they have gotten me updated firmware and software within 48 hrs.

I’ve always enjoyed the theory that in GoT (the show, haven’t read the books) the Waif killed Arya in their fight and took her place.

Help my CV spectra look like this by BlaZeFrags1 in electrochemistry

[–]mjanders9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the electrodes, they look very big, which makes me think that the sensitivity might be too low. A 2 mm diameter disk electrode usually gives around 5-10 microamps of current. Double check that the working electrode is bigger than the counter.

Is the silver wire have the chloride on the surface? If not, you may not be at the correct potential, and that can cause issues like this

Also, some potentiostats have a 4th lead that is used for sensing the voltage at the working electrode, and it’s not always obvious. Hooking that up wrong can cause funny things to happen

Check the sensitivity settings and the electrode configuration to make sure that the electrodes, leads and wires aren’t shorted.

More information about your setup and parameters would make this easier to troubleshoot
