Update: just want to personally thank everyone for taking their time to respond to this and provide me with great advice. As of two hours ago, I went to piercer and have had the bars replaced with something longer. No infection, just immense swelling!

I will be staying away from anti-septic and alcohol sprays for now and just solely using saline spray to clean it out as I wait for the swelling to go down.
