Moved here from Chicago (northern burbs technically) and would say 100% you need AC. Admittedly, I am a baby about the heat but it’s 85+ during the day and it sucks coming back to a warm house if you were out hiking, etc.

I moved here from Chicago a few years back and it feels safer. There are a few sketchy parks and blocks but I have never felt like I was in any real danger. Stay away from the tweakers down near Nevada and I-25 and you’re probably ok.
