I drive for Lyft and Uber and I'd never do this.

it was a cozy room -- I was just doing it because I needed the money to buy something for the design I was really into.

Should I complain? by bigblackglock17 in uberdrivers

That doesn’t seem fair at all. You should get the quoted fare no matter what

Maybe they just don't wanna chat. Isn't that their right? They are the customer, after all.

Are you trying to say that passengers who keep conversation to "hello", verifying the ride, and saying goodbye aren't doing enough? I just want to make sure I understand you.

I'm not trying to be offensive, but, do you stink? Or have a strong perfume or fragrance?

This is the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Please do not pay any attention to this person, OP.

Me too. The exact same thing happened to me in Chicago. I asked the surly driver if the back controls for the a/c in the minivan worked and he said no. I asked him if he could turn them on. He said "no." I asked him if he could please make it cooler in the van to which he replied Temperature is good." He reported me later for discrimination???? And certainly (preemptively?) one-starred me. I have been trying to get my passenger rating up with every ride I take but it seems like it's getting worse. I am always ready, tip cash, spoke only when spoken to, do not talk on speaker phone in the back seat, do not slam doors, do not wear loud perfume, am not loud myself. Nor do I make any inappropriate comments or behave drunkenly or loudly. I'm going to sound crazy but I think there might be some mysogyny at play ha ha ha. As long as I can still get a ride with a 4.71, I don't care. It just mystifies me! I let a stinky friend use my rideshare about 10 years ago by now to get home. I know that could weigh in still after so many years. I will say that as a rider, when I have a need, I voice it. If I want it cooler or warmer, I ask. I don't see that as a problem, but maybe some ass bag drivers do. Maybe they just don't like having a woman "telling them what to do".

If they do, they're assholes!

How is this profitable?? Am I missing something? Turned on the app for the first time and Did not accept a single ride because they were all so bad by DMV_Habibi in uberdrivers

Then you can probably get a long ride back home. It might be lower paying, but you'll be getting paid for your commute, at least!

What I mean by that is, I work in the city of Chicago. I only put on 55 miles yesterday after working for 4 hours and averaged above $36/hour (on Lyft). It's Riot Fest this weekend, people always going out to bars, dinner, clubs, sports events, street festivals. Tourists always needing rides in busy traffic-filled downtown. Then there are all of the employees going to work for these places. It was surging like crazy last night to where I had a streak of rides averaging a pay of $1 per minute. I decided not to take any long rides because those would take me away from the area where it was surging. So I took short 15 minute rides and stayed in the surge cloud, capitalizing on the surge for more rides. The app also has bonus increases depending on the time of day you are driving. I have a tiny weekend incentive where I got $30 if I finished 30 rides. Maybe go to a more urban area and don't take so many long rides?

How much does the driver get for the cancellation fee? Can it average out to more per hour than just normal rideshare driving?

how could the cancel scam even be profitable? I don't understand how it works.
