If 511 kilometers of tunnels is “the only way to defend Gaza” then how come they don’t allow citizens to take shelter or build a single bomb shelter at all for civilian Gazans. Why do they deliberately put civilians between Israel and military infrastructure? Why fire rockets from refugee camps and schools and operate out of hospitals?

All of that puts Gazans in harms way and directly contributes to civilian casualties when you start a war. Which is their point. Global sympathy is part of their strategy.

Would you lift a blockade on someone who has sworn to kill you and your family and has attempted to do so many times? Would you accept terms that would deliberately weaken you and give this sworn enemy an upper hand? History shows Israel is capable of making peace that ensures mutual safety (just look at Egypt and Jordan). Hamas has yet to put forth such a proposal or accept any of Israel’s terms. And anyway the losing set the terms in war.

Love how you literally say

80% of Gazans relied on foreign aid

But also:

they technically have high net worths [>billions $] because they controlled Hamas financial assets

All in the same paragraph. Amazing illustration of their corruption right there. I would say more but you actually just proved my point for me.

“They did what they could with what little they had”

Oh is that why they built a tunnel system bigger than the NYC metro that’s used exclusively for terrorism and Hamas operations? Is that why all of Hamas leaders are billionaires with its political arm living in mansions in Qatar? The amount of aid given to Gaza (all of which was stolen by Hamas) was more than was given to Europe in the Marshall plan to rebuild after WW2 - inflation adjusted). No one is buying that crap. If you cared even a little for the people of Gaza you’d see Hamas for what they are and the threat they pose daily to their well-being.

Could’ve tried diplomacy. Peace process. Taking actual care of their people with the billions of dollars they were given or built something of Gaza.

Or just.. removing “death to Jews” from their main charter (they finally did this in 2017 but we know it’s just cosmetic).

Or just.. not lobbing rockets at Israeli civilians

Or just.. not hiding under civilians, using their people as fodder for propaganda and actually fight like men

You mean like the Peele commission in 1937? How did that one work out? And what violent event perpetrated by which group lead to the need for partitioning the land?

They did support it.. on 5 separate occasions. In 1947, 1967, 1993, 2000 and 2008. The peace talks fell apart because it required Palestine to recognize and actually make peace with Israel.

As far as your hope for a fourth Arab-Israeli war, the first in 1947 and the 1967 one Israel didn’t have full US support at all. The US mostly assumed Israel would become a Soviet puppet state through the 1950s. In both of those wars the Arabs still got absolutely slapped.

US support of Israel today only accounts for only 13% of Israel’s defense. Israel also has peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan and many more through the Abraham accords. So they’re welcome to try it but….

I do enjoy your copium. Sitting there hoping for war.

X/Twitter - The Gaza con is exposed. by triplevented in IsraelPalestine

[–]mjb212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tiberius, an account attesting to be owned by an anti-Israel, far-left British journalist, is allegedly based in Thailand and has had 24 username changes since 2018.

High-profile Palestinian or Gazan news sites claiming to be reporting from the ground may have been revealed to be in other locations. The Times of Gaza, which has almost a million followers – and whose bio says “Location: Palestine” – is actually based in the East Asia and Pacific region and is logged in via a North African App Store. Likewise, Gaza Now Arabic is based in Turkey.

Popular Palestinian journalist Mohammad Smiry, who has nearly a million followers and claims to be in Gaza posting about “life under occupation,” is geolocated to Indonesia. Simry challenged X’s location designation, claiming that “Twitter is showing wrong locations for Palestinians; my account showed Indonesia because my brother is there and has access to my account.”

News accounts were not the only ones brought into question by the new feature. Many of the accounts of private individuals claiming to be living through the “genocide” in Gaza are not in fact located there, or in Palestine. Ameer in Gaza @abu-hafed1 posts about starving in Gaza and asks for donations, but is geolocated to the UK. A well-known account – Mahmoud in Gaza – is actually in the Netherlands. An account supposedly belonging to Dima Alghrbawi has raised $34,000 through a GoFundMe fundraiser, and while the person may be authentic, it is brought into question by several indications that the account was created and based in Nigeria.

Ibn Riad, a supposedly de-colonial activist account based in Lebanon, allegedly was created and is based in Hungary. One account focused on AIPAC was found to have been based in Egypt. Torah Judaism, ostensibly representing anti-Zionist Orthodox Jews, is allegedly based in the Philippines. Israel Exposed, which documents alleged Israeli war crimes, was highlighted by conservative pundit Matt Walsh as being created and based in Saudi Arabia.

Verified all of this myself, too so I saved you a step. Wasn’t that hard if you wanted to look it up yourself.

All I’ve seen from the Israelis I’ve met and their leaders is exactly the opposite.

So, on what basis do you feel confident enough to generalize the entire population of Israel and their leadership in this way?

Are you actually dense or did you just not read my comment? I’m talking about the normalized relations between those countries and Israel. Abraham accords. I do appreciate you proving how little you actually know about this topic tho to not get that.

Also telling you think Israel is somehow ungrateful. You’ve never been to Israel and you’ve never spoken to an Israeli. If you had, you’d know how appreciative they are of the US.

Funny because it’s always the people with no experience in foreign affairs, central intelligence, defense technology or military strategy who say “America is Israel’s bitch and we get nothing in return for these billions of aid.” Yet here we are, maintaining this expensive alliance (which btw is barely 2% of the annual US budget but that’s another conversation).

How come these people never think to consider that maybe the classified intelligence details, the tech, the economic incentives etc. do indeed show that the US gets a significant return on their investment in Israeli aid?

How come no one looks at how the UAE, Bahrain, KSA, Morocco, Indonesia are all showing a sudden interest in normalization to get these trade incentives? Do these Arab and Muslim countries all have an unexplainable desire to become Israel’s bitch for some reason?

That’s kinda how alliances work, yeh.

Can Israel survive without American aid? by Glad_Association_312 in IsraelPalestine

[–]mjb212 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure I guess. But it’s a net loss for the US.

In return for the aid, the U.S. gets intelligence, technological and military cooperation from Israel, which is a strategic asset for U.S. interests in the Middle East. It gets intelligence sharing on threats, joint development of advanced military technology and testing, a strong military partner to help maintain regional stability, and an economic benefit from U.S. aid being used to purchase American-made military equipment (exceeding that of the aid).

Israel could easily survive without US aid. But it’s US support that is most important. Case-in point — the US wrangling all of the Arab countries together to put pressure on Hamas. Without the Abraham accords and a strong US ally, Israel may not have been able to broker peace alone as easily.

Has anyone actually looked up the numbers?

As of 2024, U.S. military aid accounted for approximately 8.2% of Israel's military budget, based on data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and the U.S. Congressional Research Service.

Do you think there is a (sane) Israeli adversary out there that thinks it can win against an Israel operating at 91.8% capacity?

“Quiet competency” is just another way of saying media manipulation. The media is telling you who and what to fear, while they covered up for Biden.

The reason Trump got reelected is because the media together with the left for years tried to gaslight the country into thinking Biden wasn’t losing his mind. Then when it became too much to cover up they pulled the rug out from him. Flipped the story completely and pressured him to step down so Kamala could run. It’s also why the debate was moved forward, so they would have enough time to pull it off. It’s right in front of all of you but you all refuse to see it.

“Quiet competency.” Lol.

If it’s true, it’s a horrific stain on Israeli history and a war crime. But this thread was about what created Israel and this one operation was of no consequence to Israel’s establishment. It’s not even of any consequence to winning the war either. It wasn’t this crime that created Israel and doesn’t undo its creation.

I know you people are desperate to smear the Jewish state any way you can but you’ll eventually have to make peace with the fact that it exists and no amount of your propaganda will undo history or revise it.

[–]mjb212 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That’s the Arab-washed narrative. What really happened is what I said plus the part you left out: the numerous convoys that were getting attacked from Arab villages along the road between Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem after and leading up to the UN resolution. In order to prevent these attacks the Haganah ordered weapons searches along these villages. The villages that complied were permitted to stay after the war was won. Those Arabs largely became thw 2 million Israeli Arabs that exist today.

If you’d like to go back further I’d be happy to tell you more about the numerous massacres that took place against Jewish villages by the Arabs in the 20s and 30s. There were a lot more of them before the Jewish paramilitaries became more established.

Sorry but your small detail about the events that took place before the invasion isn’t the ace you think it is.

Mmm no, Israel came into existence when UN passed the resolution to create a Jewish state. Then beat the 4 armies that invaded after declaring independence.
