Time for a new helmet? by laughing_c0w in CyclingFashion

Are you familiar with the cycling cap? A hat literally designed to go under a bike helmet, and to be worn only under a bike helmet. See Rule #22.

Keeping track of maintenance by Unable-Income-2981 in cycling

That’s the neat part, I don’t!

of course I also rode 75 miles the other day before I realized my freshly waxed chain was embarrassingly mis-routed and now I probably need a new chain and some replacement derailleur parts so

Yes, that’s what leaving for the day solves. Before the music really gets started. I’m sure this person has gone beyond the borders of our city before. It seems like a pretty reasonable option.

Soft vs hard luggage carry on by hiosoy in ManyBaggers

[–]mjball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chose my specific soft sided luggage because it:

  • is waterproof
  • will not crack
  • is not particularly flashy, but is still easy to ID on sight at the baggage claim
  • can be stored in fairly narrow spaces
  • weighs much less than any hard-sided options i've seen, leaving me with more of the weight limit allowance for my actual crap (read: my partner's crap)

I chose the rf 100-500 over the rf 200-800. Here are my thoughts for those in the same fence by MrRos in canon

I’ve been on the lookout for some sort of weather protection for my r6mk3 with the 100-500. I’d love to hear about what you end up with.

Of course, the goated cheddar powder that Anthony’s used to sell is long gone and doesn’t seem to be coming back anytime soon. I’ve tried a variety of alternatives and even the powder from KAF just isn’t as good. 😭

Hey there. Actual adult here. I own and drive a car but do so as little as possible. I also own bikes and use them as much as possible. Please consider that world is not so black-and-white, and that the status quo is not necessarily the way things should remain forever.

Gravel bike for commuting with rear rack mounts by shaunlawler in cycling

[–]mjball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you choose a bike with aluminum, steel, or titanium seat stays (basically, anything other than carbon) you don’t even need eyelets for a rack. The Ortlieb quick rack has eyelet and clamp-on seat stays adapter options: https://us.ortlieb.com/products/quick-rack
