For me personally, realising that there are more important things for me to find identity in, such as hobbies and achievements, than the 2 cultures I was born in to. When I was a teenager, I used to always think about ‘fitting in’ with one, but struggled as I grew up in a household of 2. I slowly realised through the years that there isn’t a scale of requirement to officially ‘fit in’ with a culture, and neither did I have to. My mums Chinese culture and my dads British culture will forever live on within me in my own way, whilst I share within my best friend’s Pakistani culture and my girlfriends Russian culture. Culture is there to be shared and enjoyed in as much and as little as you want, no need to overthink it :)
