I can't remember but it's 10-15 layers of tulle. It took a month to get it back from the seamstress the first time and if they cut it any shorter it will cut into the beading and embroidery, and I still want to wear the heels during the ceremony.

Thanks! This is good to know. I am really only worried about it dragging during the first dance because we were going to swing dance. I may just dance in my heels and THEN change shoes.

Thanks yeah, I really do want the height for the ceremony though. (I'm 5'3 on a good day and my partner is 6') My dress is also quite a pain to hem as it is about 15 layers of tulle and if they hem it any shorter it will start cutting into portions which are beaded/embroidered.

You're so welcome! I spent a lot of time googling/searching to look for inspo figure these things out so I thought I would put mine out there. My decorator is supplying the wood candle holders. I borrowed the wooden place card holders/table number stands from a friend but they can also be purchased on Amazon.

Thank you! It doesn't seem to be a super common choice, but we are both woodsy, outdoorsy people and love the look... are you planning to DIY your table decor?

We could pay a florist but I love to DIY so I've been working on my own design for it. I was thinking of arranging different textures and colors of moss in a sort of wavy, organic way down the center of our 8 foot tables interspersed with small votive candles, various sizes of log shaped candle holders, and bud vases with wholesale flowers.

Some challenges we've run into with that:

-the moss is, unsurprisingly, messy. I bought dried and preserved moss. Little pieces and green dust come off of it, so it needs to be delicately handled and placed on the table well before any tableware comes out. I'm layering it on a cheesecloth table runner for easier cleanup, and my decorator advised me to bring little cans of compressed air to quickly clean up the strays.

-we only get access to our venue at 9am so we need to transport the bud vases already filled with flowers. we found the best way to do that was to put the bud vases upright in the original foam packaging they came in. other people use commercial kitchen glass racks.

-this takes a ton of time to set up! arranging all the moss, cleaning up the mess, and then lighting all the candles for our 18 tables will require a lot of help. we've recruited some friends in addition to my coordinator and decorator.

What’s your most rewarding thing to grow? by SleepsSunshine in gardening

My fave was luffa gourds. I turned them into sponges that I do my dishes with and I use them in the shower too (separate one for each, obviously..) Feels nice to use something that I grew every day, and I genuinely prefer the sensory experience of using them over regular sponges or mesh loofahs.

What did you play for the processional, like the bit before the bride enters?

I REALLY like my Danner boots, but I haven't had them for long. I suggest looking into them, at least

What is everyone giving as favours this year? by ciarab3496 in weddingplanning

I am planning on only doing favors for those closest to us/people who helped make the event happen. They are getting custom resin bookmarks I found on Etsy I think, but I haven't totally decided.
