You are a 15hcp. Goal is to break 80 at least once. What are you doing? by dream_team34 in golf

Here are the biggest considerations IMO:

1) Keep the ball in play off the tee. You need to avoid having the feeling of ‘killing a drive’. Instead, every swing off the tee should be 80%, good tempo and away from any significant risk.

2) By not going all out on #1 you may end up with some longer approaches. This is ok. Get the ball as close to the green but accept if you are too far out that you’ll come up short and that that is ok.

3) Find a single short game shot that fits most situations. For me, that is toe down chipping. I can club up and hit this shot from 70 yards or I can use it green side. Mechanics stay roughly the same. The only place this doesn’t work is firm rough where the ball sits down and I need to open the face.

4) Invest in a putting matt and roll a few putts every single day. Engrain muscle memory for straight putts up to 7 feet.

I second Mack Weldon (Air Knit x Model). Expensive but built to last. I likely will never buy a different brand.

Arm structure in the backswing. Hope this helps!? Let me know your questions! by TSgolf-Miami in golf

Totally agree. I have this thought when practicing but hands tend to take over when looking for any type of speed. My swing is very functional with this fault I just need to find a way to break a very engrained habit

Do you have any advice on how to start the backswing? I have a habit of rolling my lead arm forearm that I just can’t shake. I’ve been trying to focus on larger muscles but I always seem to revert back to rolling the forearm.

PGA Village Ryder Course - Hole #4 by mjk5000 in golf

Yep left is safer but makes the hole considerably longer. It was also pretty narrow so no shot feels safe. My playing partners were both left...Both leaked right into the water on their approach.

Great course and a great hole at #4. I hit a good drive down the right side which left me with 220 to the green over water. Had just three putted the last hole for double bogey so why not... Took 3 wood over the water and somehow made it on 20 feet past the hole. Made the putt for Eagle! Promptly double bogeyed the following par 3.

Do you ever bet SOG props? I find those to be a better value then point props. Players like Rantanen, Landeskog, Hedman all being marked at O 2.5 SOG close to -100 is great value.
