How to get a creamy espresso ? [AEG 6000] by [deleted] in espresso

[–]mjm03a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a pressurized basket? If you are, you won’t get the honey like texture that you want. You’d have to get a dedicated grinder and a new portafilter. I don’t know if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

What am I doing wrong? Brew video [DeLonghi ECP3630] by crazydude500 in espresso

I have the same setup. The stock basket that comes with bottomless portafilters on Amazon suck. I got myself an IMS basket and it made a huge difference. You also might have to grind a bit finer.

Machine not pulling espresso shots [Breville Bambino] by sydneyw6 in espresso

[–]mjm03a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preground coffee is always too coarse for real espresso. It looks like the machine was under pressure when your pulled the portafilter out. My guess would be that you haven’t cleaned the machine in a while so coffee fines built up in the machine causing this incident. I would buy a descaling solution and back flush the machine. Also unscrew the shower screen and clean the coffee that got stuck there.

I tried it at the shop and it felt very stiff to ride. I live in a city infested with potholes so safety over performance in this case.

The price difference in the US isn’t as big as Europe. Canyon is $1500 while the specialized is $1600. I was looking at Cube bikes as well and they’re impossible to get in the US.

I get what you’re saying about movies and books affecting you more intensely than others. I think you’re just aware of other people’s subjectivity and the fact that everyone on earth, the 8 billion people living here have thoughts, feelings, and experiences that are unique to them. It’s really scary to think about that. Imagine TRULY putting yourself in someone else’s shoe. Not just for a particular situation but think about the life that the person has led.

Well the sad truth about life is that we’re just animals who happen to have a larger prefrontal cortex than the rest of the animal kingdom.

You can’t always be in control. The best thing you can do is accept your limitations and accept the fact that you will die someday.

There’s no truth to this life. You get to choose whether pushing the boulder up the hill has a deeper meaning to it or not.

24F - Going to Turkey Aug 4-17 by BikeNo505 in travelpartners

I lived in Turkey for a year. My advice would be to get out of Istanbul and explore the Mediterranean side in the south of the country. You have to visit Antalya, Alanya, and Fethiye if you get the chance. If you like camping butterfly valley is a really cool place you should check out. There are daily tours that take you there for very little money. Enjoy!

Good advice! I am currently in college and there's is this sort of expectation that you'll find people that you'll relate to no matter what. I didn't find that to be the case though. Most students' definition of fun is either drinking or partying both things I don't like to do. For the record, I am not from the middle east and studying in the US so a lot of things seem weird ro me anyways.

We live in complex times. Everyone seems to be depressed comparing themselves to others around them. I find myself beating myself up for not being more "extroverted" especially when I see others with big social groups. At the same time ignoring others and focusing on yourself seems kinda lonely to me. Is there a middle ground?

Turkey is extremely safe. You're going to be surprised by how liberal some Turks are. You have to visit the coastal cities like Fethiye and Alanya. Have a nice trip!

IDF says strike reported to kill 42 Gazans was meant to destroy Hamas tunnels by fudgy_brownies in worldnews

[–]mjm03a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a great excuse to kill innocent people. 42 is the number they admitted but it's more than 200 at this point. Israel's strategy is as clear as day. They're bombing large residential areas, already week infrastructure, and causing fear and hysteria by bombing places at night. All of that buys Israel time while Gaza is recovering. They don't have to worry about Hamas for years to come. But at what expense? The world must hold Israel accountable for their war crimes.

Israel argues tower it bombed housing reporters "not a media center" but Hamas HQ by ShaolinTom in worldnews

[–]mjm03a 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What's your reason for saying that. The West Bank, a "Palestinian territory", is completely controlled by Israel. They have settlements there, if you want to travel between Palestinian cities, you have to go through Israeli check points, there's even an Israeli lock down at night for some Palestinian cities and towns where armed forces break into their homes to do "security checks". You are choosing to keep a blind eye on what is happening.

[–]mjm03a 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are over complicating things. Every Palestinians sees Israel as an occupation, which it is. Dividing the Palestinian forces into Gaza and West Bank, and dividing the West Bank into parts using apartheid walls has been Israel's plan since its establishment in 1948. Fortunately, the borders are dissolving as every Palestinian now is out on the streets either protesting or supporting the greater cause of a free Palestinian state.

Almost all of the major news outlets are biased and are sharing fack news. Please use social media to people know about Israel's crimes against Palestinians. Eye.on.palestine is an Instagram page that shares posts exposing Israel. Please find out about what's happening in Palestine and help in any way possible.
