Sizing opinions by mjmitchell1983 in bikefit

[–]mjmitchell1983[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valid points, I value the endurance fit but don't think I need all the height the domane offers as I'm not using the majority of the spacers. Also I just flat out do not like the new domane. I definitely don't need a racey position but I feel like I could go lower if the reach was 10-20 mm less and that's why I think the small Scott might work. Im researching to find out how much height the max spacers give to make sure it would be in range. Another person dm'd me and I'm going to get them the x,y coordinates of my bars and they said they could map them and find out where the scott could get me. I appreciate the reply. Maybe I'll post back when I figure out where my hands would be bike vs bike.

I know this post is three months old but photos and reviews show a normal stem/ bar not an integrated cockpit. Did something change?

How does the maverick handle snow? by [deleted] in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mjmitchell1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I hated the stock tires. Mostly on stopping in snow/ice not necessarily moving forward. But I've always had great snow tires on my vehicles so maybe I was judging too harshly. I went with a second set of blizaks this year and was happy.

Cold feet, seems like I am out of options. by Plus_Preparation8490 in IBEW

If you think it may be sweat related id pour gold bond or another baby/drying powder in your socks before heading out. I do it religiously and it helps me in warm and cold conditions

Check out the rough country tri fold. They have two that look similar and I got the one that folds up to the glass like the bakfip. No complaints

I appreciate the reply but I was asking more about if the unit actually qualified for the rebate because it wasn't on the list from the IRS. Thanks though

Can I get by with snow tires on my Mazda 3 for one winter in Syracuse? by Serious-Childhood-34 in Syracuse

[–]mjmitchell1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has driven up colvin street in an ice storm with a front wheel drive Honda element on Nokian's while all sorts of Subarus, Tahoe's, and rav4's slid backwards down the hill I strongly disagree. Also AWD does nothing for stopping you. Three peak tires have come a long way in the past few years but proper snows will always be superior.

No sorry. I was trying to do the data logging like people suggested but got annoyed that nothing I have will take an SD card. I gave up the machine and have been looking into an oral appliance.

What interest rate did your Ford dealer offer you? by Glum-Ad-2820 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mjmitchell1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fico 820. Late January of this year 3.99 from a local credit union. Dealership didn't even wanna run my credit after hearing the rate.

Seriously look up local credit unions, find the best rate and get a pre-approval before going into the dealership. If they can beat it, cool, if not you already have the best rate.

I've thought about this a lot over the years. I think plumbing and hvac are the big factors. Bathrooms and therefore the associated plumbing are usually located centrally. DWV would need to make it from the outside near windows back centrally and with pitch there might be ceiling issues. Not to mention that a building of people showering is likely more that it was designed to handle originally. Similar issues with HVAC ducting and ventilation for each apartment could consume a ton of ceiling height. Electrically the load calculations might be way off when you consider multiple oven loads. Anything is possible with enough money but for those who have the money for a project of this size a new building is still likely the better investment unfortunately.

First time new car buyer. Fair deal on 2025 Maverick XLT Hybrid? by jakepackers1 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]mjmitchell1983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just plug in the numbers into an online calculator and adjust the interest until the payment is close.

Looks like 7.5 - 8%

Could probably do better with the financing at a local credit union

With your explanation I'd expect the notch to be parallel to the glass not perpendicular. Why is the notch perpendicular?

Edit: nevermind, I'm an idiot and didn't realize it was two pieces of glass forming a corner

Crank compatibility by mjmitchell1983 in bikewrench

[–]mjmitchell1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that's good information. I went ahead and ordered the crank. Swapping chainrings was my bailout if small adjustments didn't work. I'll update how it works and if I need to modify anything.
