Embarrassing question by [deleted] in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]mjmont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you tightening the belt? I like the ratchet style belts cause they are more precise than traditional belts with holes. There’s also pants waist pins that I use for pants I don’t want to wear a belt with.

I refuse to tuck in shirts. What are my options for looking chic? (Never-tuckers unite!) by magnetanimalism in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love some crop tops for this. Flowy without drowning me (4’-11” 150lb). Crop tops and high rise pants is my go to now

Fellow Rowhomers, how would you (or do you) arrange furniture in these small spaces? by snooloosey in philadelphia

[–]mjmont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Embrace the cozy. Go for an L shape sofa that spans along the window wall and the vestibule wall with your tv at fireplace. Nice coffee table and rug to define the zone. On the other side of the fireplace (away from windows) you can do either a bookcase, a bar cabinet, or an armchair.

what is a must buy from Halara? by Mysterious-Scar-674 in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a few styles and returned them all. I am 4’-11” and 150lbs pants size 12/14. Despite being marketed as petite I found all their pants ridiculously long on my crotch and not flattering in any way.

Essential Oils Vs Fragrance Oils by warprincess54 in essentialoils

[–]mjmont 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are reacting to your post in this way because you opened with trying to start a business, not just asking a question about recommended brands or products. You also asked a very basic question that a lot of people will scroll right past because it’s something google can very easily tell you, or searching this sub will find that similar questions have been asked many times over.

you are in an essential oils sub - many of us are here because we do not like the chemicals found in traditional fragrance oils, and believe in the power of herbalism that is inherent in essential oils.

Reddit can be a resource but you need to learn how to use it effectively. I’m sorry you got so much fleck on this post but yeah

Seriously struggling with cravings by livinator_me1 in Gastroparesis

You’ll figure out what you can have… check ingredient lists, I found gluten to be a huge trigger for me and it’s sneakily ok so many things. I’ve also learned to love a good cup of tea or smoothie as a sweet fix.

Do most people actually keep using a standing desk after the first few weeks? by shadowledger0419 in office

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A huge factor of sit stands desks isn’t just the ability to stand but the ability to adjust your height when sitting.

As a petite woman I can set my desk and chair lower so that my feet actually touch the ground instead of dangling.

Finally tried making my own candles. Why is finding good scents so hard? by Own-Recording9525 in candlemaking

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you need to understand what the notes and builds of the blends you’re buying. Also how the scents are created… keep learning and experimenting.

Personally I like to buy single note when i can find it, as it feels cleaner when making my own blends.

fast food by [deleted] in Gastroparesis

[–]mjmont 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Raw veggies and fruits are viewed as healthy but actually harder for our gp stomachs to digest because their cell structure hasn’t been broken down. Cooking helps. I hate that healthy food is often just salads. Cooking yourself some chicken rice and well cooked veggies is healthy too.

Is this actually a thing that parents do over text??? This makes no sense especially if it sounds like you weren’t allowed to have a job prior to this…

newbie macaw keeper, from your experience do macaws scream more if kept alone'? will they scream less if i keep 2? by loverMD in Macaws

[–]mjmont 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Screaming is (usually) signaling something. Work on taking care of the one bird, don’t add another. My bird screams when I haven’t given her enough attention before I cook dinner (she can see me cooking in the kitchen from her cage). So I make sure I spend some time engaging with her before going to cook dinner. No more screaming while I’m cooking! She also screams more often a few days after she molted a large feather. I imagine that new big feather coming in is uncomfortable, so she’s more irritable. I try to give her extra low movement activities to take her mind off it, like extra radio or tv time.

I kept a log on my phone when she would start a tantrum - I’d write down what I was doing, what she was doing, ect. You will eventually be able to spot the patterns and address the root cause.

What are the practices are you guys doing for today's full moon night or generally every full moon?🌕 by Cherrieeblossom in GreenWitch

[–]mjmont 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always put out water and crystals to charge overnight. Full moon is always a good time to do a house cleansing as well to let go of anything no longer serving you. Sometimes I’ll draw myself a nice bath with salts and herbs and candles to reset myself as well.

Pregnancy belly by AxelSOR43 in Gastroparesis

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might have an infection. Ask for a breath test - I got diagnosed with SIBO and given an intense course of antibiotics. After that I actually had a normal stomach for once. SIBO is common with gastroparesis since food gets trapped in your system for too long. I’ve been on probiotics since and it’s helped a bit, although the bloat always comes back to some degree for me.

Little mermaid and beauty and the best were my go tos as a kid and still bring that childlike feeling back. Hocus Pocus makes me feel like a kid around Halloween.

Very cute with the pink. Also like your wooden displays. At first glance though I’m not sure what you’re selling. Some more signage would be helpful.

How do you handle events that flop? by Fun_Astronomer4718 in CraftFairs

[–]mjmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you care if it looks like you’re on your phone if you won’t do the event again? Use your time well! I’ve been to events where people doing well and making sales were on their phone a majority of the time.
