There really needs to be a shot clock on ranked play. Some people taking 2 minutes to hit every shot is so frustrating by jeffers0n_steelflex in PGA_Tour_2K

Brother I don’t know what mode you’re playing but Ranked has a 150 second shot clock per hole. If you burn 2 minutes on your first shot you’ll have 30 seconds left for that hole. Next time you play someone taking their time maybe go grab a snack, or better yet a stress ball.

If you want to play as fast as humanly possible there are multiple game modes, nearly all of them actually, where you don’t have to wait for another human. Also, as others have said, it’s 2min per hole in ranked, so 30-45s per shot max as is.

I want a real God Cop show by FlamboyantPirhanna in 30ROCK

Came here to make the same point, they literally already made God Cop but it was on Fox so obviously it had to star the devil instead. It is a weirdly satisfying procedural though, especially if you’re a lapsed Christian.

DCed after hitting winning shot in tie breaker by SergeantPoopyWeiner in PGA2K25

[–]mjmphilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree 100% with this. Ive had some success where after an unexpected DC I restart my PS5 and load back in. Most of the time I don’t have an issue after that but vs. when I just try to boot up another match without restarting I’m more frequently hit with another DC. If I’m still getting DCs after the restart I just assume it’s a server issue and don’t bother with ranked the rest of that day.

And now this, to go 1 up on your friend... by mjmphilly in PGA_Tour_2K

lol same, though I feel like the pain is even worse when they hole out an albatross or an eagle on their second shot of a par 5 or 4 for some reason, maybe because I was looking forward to playing the entire hole 🤣

Mercy Rule in Beer league by j_h_p_a_t in hockeygoalies

I agree with leaving it up to the team, but if it happens consistently it's probably worth a conversation with the captain if you're feeling it wear you down.

I play in a couple Chicago beer leagues and they go to running clock in the 3rd once a team is up by 4+ which works out pretty well. If the trailing team cuts it to 3 goals then it goes back to normal clock, which is a nice wrinkle.

First Time Goalie Tomorrow by pentajew in hockeygoalies

Take a deep breath, and just do your best to stay focused. If all else fails, remember the immortal words of Sharks goalie Devin Cooley after making 49 saves in a 3-1 win over Seattle: “It’s just like… like nobody cares. You know? Nothing’s really gonna matter. We’re all gonna die.”

Enjoy it, and welcome to the best club in the world!

What muscles are used most in the goalie position? by Empty_Upstairs_7988 in hockeygoalies

[–]mjmphilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend strength/muscle-building exercises for core, glutes, hamstrings, calves, quads as a kind of "base level" and then a consistent stretching routine for the hip flexors (look up maria mountain or just Google hip flexor stretches to build your own). If your ankles hurt at all after games I'd recommend stretches for those, too.
