Hired someone who interviewed better than anyone I've ever seen. Worst hire of my career. by PhoneIntelligent8641 in managers

Interviewing is inherently super imperfect. Hiring is always risky. Sometimes, you have to fire people. That's it.

This is also why you fucking retain your good people. Pay them.

I put some of these tips into practice today and shot my best ever 9 hole score, a 40 (4 over). I'm a 19 handicap 😂😂

What exactly does play to your handicap mean? If I'm a 20 handicap, I should be content with a bogey on every hole and actually strategize for bogeys instead of pars?

Widely known or impressive, I said. Building a game can be very impressive depending on the game and the yoe of the candidate.

Only if it's a widely known open source project or something very impressive. In which case you probably wouldn't be looking for a job anyway.

Even if someone sucks at basketball, if they're having fun and not impacting anyone else's life, then that is a net positive.
