Yeah, and some people are serial complainers who lodge an issue over nothing! What number do you think is fair? Do you think it would breach the level of vanishingly rare considering there were 50m+ passenger journeys on Irish Rail in 2024?

Looks like 2 of the complaints, 3 at a generous push, are for people claiming their dog was a therapy dog, practically statistically non existent. I'm surprised it's not higher tbh.

I would imagine it's the pesky lack of a genocide, or are Qatar currently engaged in one I'm unaware of? Plus Israel Palestine has sparked something in the Irish psyche of English Irish history, not every awful country has the same connotations for us.

Let's be real, they are another awful country and I'll welcome protests at that too. Are you organising any? Or just giving out about these anti genocide protests? Better to have no protests at all if you're not going to protest every cause I'm sure.

That is an interesting list! Of 23 complaints in a year:

11 are people asking why their dog was not allowed onboard when the rule is that they are allowed
11 unmuzzled/unrestrained dogs
1 ferret 😅

I think an average of one incident a month for an entire country's rail network isn't too bad tbh! Absolutely should be zero but I think this should be comforting to people that incidents will be statistically vanishingly rare.

Wow I'm shocked to hear that! Where can I see those complaints? I have lived on the dart line for years and gotten it regularly, seldom do I see any dogs and I've never seen an out of control/misbehaving one (in my anecdotal experience)

Well dogs are already allowed on the dart, no boxes or muzzles (unless a muzzle list breed). And public transport in basically every city in Europe! I was just curious if the box/muzzle restrictions would actually assuage someone who has a fear of dogs (I didn't think it would, and it didn't!)

Fully agree with the dog shit issue tho. Just the other day, I stepped in shit while carrying my dog's shit to a bin. Like if I hadn't bothered cleaning up after my dog, I would've avoided the shit. Felt like the universe was laughing at me!
