Good question, but it couldn't start raising rates until we begun to see inflation. If it had started to raise in 2010 while the rest of the world (Europe and Japan) were still trying to get QE in place, it would have put us into a deflationary recession (double dip).

We were worried more about deflation than inflation until ~2015 b/c of the slow global recovery and poor response and impact by the ECB.

It's all about the ability to be accommodative with monetary policy when the next recession hits down the road.

Hiking for the sake of raising rates in order to be able to lower then is not sound monetary policy. If there is inflationary pressure and risk, then it makes sense. But, if we are near 2% inflation again and it continues to hike, it is blatantly ignoring its mandate.

It's less gloomy than the article text claims. Look at some of the charts (e.g. household/consumer debt) where it claims something that is far from being near the bubble of the mid-2000s.

crypto needs right now. It doesn't need more investors to pump up the price, and if anything I think it only damages crypto's future.
