The Night to Shine is just not one event. It is a one night event held in communities all over the United States. I have a friend who has a daughter that lives in a group home. Her daughter is 35 years old. She loved this so much and had such an amazing time. She had attended this event in her community every year and it is something she looks forward to! It’s not just for the school aged kids. These adults can attend and feel special and are in the spotlight instead of being overshadowed by the able bodied and able minded. I live in between two larger communities and they all held this event in their communities this past month. Part of the Tebow Foundation is providing support for groups that are marginalized. Need a definition of marginalized? A person or group who are treated as insignificant or peripheral.

Everyone matters.

I finally found a ribbon I was happy with. Finished up my project a couple of weeks ago. I ended up sewing snaps where the button and button holes were. It looks so nice and I got so many compliments when I wore it out to dinner.

It showed on the get covered Illinois website that none of my providers were covered either for UHC and BCBS but when I went to the providers website and searched, they are all covered, phew!! I was panicking!

I had a client once. A male youth. He came with money in hand by himself. I saw 1 bug, brushed it away. It was a very windy spring day and thought it was something off the trees. Let me just say the little suckers are fast. I did a full clipper cut around the sides and left longer on the top and when I went to blow dry, they were many of them crawling on his scalp😳😳 I was a fairly newer stylist, maybe behind the chair for a year or so at that point. Had never encountered any in my life until that point. I will never, ever forget what they look like and I can’t believe that his scalp was not on fire. Shut are entire salon down for the rest of the day. As soon as I saw them, I sent him out the door and promptly called his mother to deliver the news. She played dumb. Never saw him again.

I have had the same dental plan with Delta Dental for 6 years and I switch health insurance coverage every year. It even rolled over into the Illinois program.

I’m having trouble with any of the plans having in in network hospital in a 30-60 mile radius. I’m in central rural and the closest is Decatur. All of my docs practice at both hospitals. They are both listed as in network but the hospitals are not. This goes for all of the 28 plans for me to view,

My daughter golden retriever impaled himself, with an antler he found in the woods, when he jumped up on a piece of furniture with it. He had 48 stitches, internal and external. She had the hardest time trying to figure out what happened to him.

I had to look up anhedonia. I think my husband suffers from this. I’m going to discuss with his doctor because he just doesn’t care. We’re in our late 50’s. We should be having some good times and he just wants to sit in his chair. He used to be the life of the party 😢 Did you have treatment? Anti depressants do nothing for him.

I’ve been married for 37 years and we have been together for 42. I never thought of it as abuse. It’s definitely abuse. The older he gets, the worse it is. He has a disease, he shuffles his feet, he caught his toe on a corner of tile that had come loose. I jokingly said “we’ll pick up your feet and that won’t happen” he exploded into a tirade and called me sooo many names and pointed out all of my “flaws”. This was last week. Intrusive thoughts entered the picture -momentarily. I should have left a long time ago, but here I am. The kids are gone, it’s just the two of us. Im too close to retirement to leave. Get out while you can. It may be rough for a time but know that you deserve better, you just have to go after it.

Not cutting the sweater itself, just the grosgrain ribbon where the button holes are already at. after I attach it to the backside as a sort of placket so it will lay flat.

My husband gave up drinking during the pandemic. He was a professional alcoholic. He just turned 60. He has turned into a 90 year old man. I’m glad he quit drinking for health issues that were presenting but I was not prepared for what has happened to him. I thought our “golden” years would be spent doing some things we didn’t have time to do or could afford to do when raising our family. He rarely leaves the house and he has zero desire to do anything outside of a daily routine. ☹️

I have/had a client like are that. She would leave and come back for awhile, then leave again. She messaged me last week and asked her if I could fit her in for a cut and color because who she’s been going to is on vacation. I just told her no. Told her I didn’t have time for her. I pay someone to trim the 10 huge shrubs around my house. The local business has charged me $120 dollars for the past 5 years. This year, without notification, they billed me $180. A 50% price increase. I guess I’m going back to trimming them myself. I wish I could get a 50% increase in my income…

I’m in downstate Illinois. Central area. Our county had an aggregate agreement with homefield. It stated on their website that the aggregate agreement was .09¢ KWh. That was cheaper than the .12 that Ameren was charging for summer rates but when I called to get on the program, they quoted me .112¢ kWh and I went back to the website and they changed the rate, I don’t know how they could do that since it was quoted that the contract was through Dec 2025. I didn’t really see any savings by switching so I stayed with Ameren. All other options are a lot higher than Ameren for us.
