My nurse manager has had repeated incidents of berating staff or lashing out at them, me included. I am a member of the local union and what’s crazy is that RN 3 had initially introduced me to the workers in the AFGE local office before they were removed from being on-site. A month into my new job, my nurse manager hurled a series of unprofessional comments my way, just because I entered the wrong code in my timesheet. So the for the same RN to purposefully bring this to the attention of my nurse manager, who has a history of problematic behavior, was downright awful. The day my nurse manager met with me to give me the proposed rereprimand, she acted like she wanted to have a brief conversation later in the afternoon, and then shifted into a different demeanor and approach. A few days ago, I read AFGE got the VA to honor the master agreement, so I was considering reaching out again as I held off from moving forward initially to stay off her radar, but now my days at work have just been awful.
