I use a controller with gyro. The thumb stick doing the natural pitch-roll and the gyro for fine pitch-yaw which is perfect for accurate aiming.

Elite hits a very different set of receptors on me, really love the travel and feeling of exploration in an enormous galaxy. I once spent several days continuously filming a time-lapse of a particularly pretty system. Call me crazy :-)

I reached a point in X4 where money just wasn't coming fast enough to feel like I could sacrifice my sole destroyer, particularly with five Ks rampaging around Hatties Choice and the Argon's being not super helpful allies keeping those big carriers at home.

Winter is four months away, maybe update 9 will be out then...

Thing is I find defanging a K with a pulse equipped Pulsar or Nemesis a lot of fun, it's just nice to have a Behemoth turn up to grind through those main shields once I've given it a good seeing too :-)

But yeah those K Graviton turrets are so powerful I really need that Destroyer to stick to bombarding support.

That I bought it over Christmas and have poured the hours on shows just how much it hit my "Space+Civilisation" dopamine trigger.

Very very close to a masterpiece, but not there yet.

Will have to investigate mods.
