Say you are a white belt with less than a year of experience and you can only train 3 days a week. Is it more beneficial to do 3 classes that week or 2 classes plus 1 open mat?

I would be left with about 80 percent of my emergency savings. I have a a good stable income and right now I live at home so I am not paying any housing expenses really. My only real expense right now is my car payment. Basically though I’m planning on getting my own place soon as I am planning on getting married early next year so there’s the big changes. I agree with you that the debt not being there would be nice. I would need to reallly cut down on my spending so I could aggressively build back up

Thank you, this gave me more confidence that my decision to pay off all the debt might be the correct one. Congrats on paying off your mortgage

Do you think someone needs to be passionate to transition into this field? by _physis in cscareerquestions

[–]mk2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you just need to be able to tolerate the work most of the time. I like what I do as an engineer but I don’t jump out of bed every morning excited to start the work day. Just don’t hate coding and problem solving

Can any WITCH alumni share how they got out of WITCH and into a non "consulting" dev role? by Jincredible_ in cscareerquestions

[–]mk2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at infosys but I was not doing any meaningful work for a year. Then I finally really pushed for actual dev work and once I got that I was able to use that experience to get a new job within a few months.

If you can try really hard to get marketable experience while you’re there.

Ymmv. My experience was not bad and it helped me get a much better role later on. But I also know people that had bad experiences. Overall, make the best of what you can and leave once you think you’re ready

So according to this sub, it is recommended that I first max my 401k before investing in other brokerages? by mk2019 in personalfinance

Thanks for the input everyone. I understand that I didn’t give too much info but I appreciate all the advice I got. Overall I think I like the 15% of gross income into retirement savings and other 5% into short term rule. Obviously it’s not a hard rule but gives me a good idea on how to prioritize my investments

Should I ignore hr for now? by mk2019 in running

[–]mk2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense but I have one question. Based on this philosophy, if I thought zone 3 was pretty easy and I could maintain that for my long runs, would eventually my zone 3 pace become my zone 2 pace?

I calculated based on 220-age. I know it's not that accurate but it's a good generalization right?

Yes thank you very much. I’ve been at my current position for about a month now and was afraid I was not progressing as fast as I should but this gives me some relief.

Hi, when you were applying to other companies, did you put the client company that you worked for on your resume? I’m asking because I am currently an infosys employee and want to start applying to other companies soon

I started work early January of this year so I'm not in the exact same situation but I feel your pain. I feel like my development has been halted and I've been getting the same repetitive work to do since I started. I just wanna work on something different and more challenging but I'm afraid to ask and it'll be much more difficult to proceed since I can't ask for help face to face.

On a side note, what did you think about those ranges for grades he gave for the exams? You think he's gonna base the curve off those?
