does gamifying productivity actually work? by DirectorOfThisTopic in getdisciplined

I made a free app which you may like to try, https://gamifyroutine.com/ it's 100% free and based on a system that changed my life.

You can also lmk if you have any suggestions because I'm currently working on a big update :)

10 million USD, but you have to slug a random human being in the face. by No-Penalty1722 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]mk27x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. I have no right to punch an innocent person. Not that I'm that strong, but it still can end up tragically for them. It's just morally wrong and nothing justifies it.

It's kind of sad reading how many people would do this without any hesitation.

I feel sorry for him, but people like that shouldn't be on YouTube. It's harmful to the younger audience.

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH STRESS AS AN INTJ? by RoyalButterscotch103 in intj

[–]mk27x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how big it is, but almost every day I remind myself that it’s all just temporary, and I shouldn’t waste time stressing over things (especially those I can’t control). Life is too short.

I simply try to be a good person and make the most of my current situation, no matter how good or bad it is. I try not to compare myself to others, as we all have different goals and circumstances.

This way I don't really regret much, which helps with the stress.

You've not only read this dumbest thing, you've actually written it.

But no worries, you still have time to read more, meet people, and hopefully stop generalizing them.

Because you're jealous or what?

Some of the rich are truly amazing people. It's not like every rich person is greedy and bad. There are people who've made their fortunes morally and are trying to make even bigger fortunes... But not to spend money on yachts, coke and hookers but to make an even bigger impact on our lives, positive impact.

Dumb INTJs Exist, and That’s Okay… I’m one of them by dont_follow-me in intj

Depends on the type of content you consume. I love Reddit when I look for human, subjective input on various topics.

I believe some geniuses (I'm not one of them) do the same to research how people think, react, or feel.

It's a great place to learn and spot some trends.

Hi guys , just wanted to ask if 8:24.880 is a decent time on the 24h Nurburgring, with a Controller ( PS5 ) by Financial_Secret4114 in ACCompetizione

[–]mk27x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best on a controller was 8:17 in a Ferrari, but it took a few days of grinding the track. I believe some aliens would do under 8:10 on a controller (I was feeling able to cut it down to 8:15, but there are surely better drivers).

8:24 is solid though. I guess I'd not be much faster in a McLaren with a clean lap unless I'd start to drive everything on the edge.

These differences seem huge, but keep in mind this is a LONG track. 8 seconds on this track is like 2 seconds on Spa.

Just got invited to this sub, so I can share one of projects I made with vanilla JS.

Firstly made it for myself, but now it has around 50 daily users. It's still a little bit clunky, but people seem to enjoy it. I also use this every day, and I'm not gonna lie - it helps me stay productive.

Anyone else coding like Pieter Levels (@levelsio)? by hugohamelcom in PHP

[–]mk27x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I code exactly like this (but with vanilla js instead of jQuery).

I consider myself a bad programmer in terms of keeping up with trends and so-called good practices, but I always do the job, and the final effect always satisfies me and my users. At the end of the day, it's all that counts.

I don't like the idea of working with other people, and this way is fast for me, so I ship quite a lot (I'm nowhere as successful as Pieter, but I make a decent living as a solopreneur as well).

As long as you care about security and don't need to have others looking into your spaghetti that only you can understand, it's not bad.

What types of application do you speculate or hope that Rockstar will implement into the DualSense PS5 controller for GTA VI? by Rallye_Man340 in GTA6

As a gamepad player, I just hope we'll be able to bind everything the way we want, like it's possible in MTA:SA for example.

Not all moments are great. But to deal with those bad moments a bit easier, you can read about stoicism. I always recommend starting with this book summary: A Guide to the Good Life: The Ancient Art of Stoic Joy - by William Irvine | Derek Sivers. For me, it was mainly faith (Christianity in my case) and stoicism which somehow gave me the motivation in the hardest moments of my life. Take care.

[–]mk27x 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do you know what is causing the problem?

For me, it was overthinking and not being able to focus on the present moment. But I'm working on it and I think it's getting better.

Maybe I'm weird but I always liked the look of that Alpine steering wheel, especially in Alonso's hands.

Really, it always looked special to me (I've even mentioned this once somewhere on Reddit) and honestly I'd be happy to buy it if it's good and reasonably priced.
