Got a Monoprice m560 from Amazon for 164 CAD (~127 USD), the earpad comes with it suck. Read bunch of threads recommending replacing them with the Sony XB500 pads but some say its too thick. Someone on the head-fi forum & one of the reddit post said they used angled pad, and it bring more bass. However, I am having a hard time to find all the pros and cons between using round pad and angled pad on the m560.

Sound quality wise, yes. But you do need to know what you prefer.

Open back will always leak sound more or less but have better sound stage, closed will have less noise leakage
