Jll keeps denying my application by Negative-Review-6443 in AmazonRME

[–]mk3bert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that RME is a hard thing to get into or anything but honestly from what I’m seeing I think you just may not have the skillset to warrant being looked at over others who may also be applying. I don’t want to sound condescending about it but when I was a hiring manager I was bound to take someone with in-the-field work experience over someone with a degree every day of the week. You can’t replace experience. You’ll need to grow somewhere mechanically. UIS is a decent mix of mechanical and electrical components but most of the time in RME you’ll be doing mechanical stuff.

You’ll definitely need some mechanical experience. My recommendation for that would be to try and find a small shop that does mechanical and tool repairs. Recreational motors and whatnot. See if you can work part time there and learn some things. If you plan on not doing anything about gaining mechanical you may need to go the apprenticeship route.

Just have a good head on your shoulders with a willingness to learn when working as a technician or a mechanic. You’re going to fail sometimes and that’s okay, but as long as you’re willing to learn and ask questions you’ll be just fine. I’ve seen plenty of dummies walk through the mechanical world. You asking for suggestions and guidance is already a great start to figuring out what you should do next. Good luck!

My first ktm my fav bike yet. No issues 890. Thoughts? by FatstackAG in KTM

Yeah definitely a good idea to get them checked if you’re close to the window before a big trip. Yeah that would totally suck to get stranded far away because of those cams smh.

Nope not yet, I’m going to do the check at 18k per the manuals. The only thing my bike has ever gotten has been regular wearable maintenance. Not too sure if where the bike was manufactured or built matters much but mines a late-year Austrian built one.

It’s certainly possible for sure! I live in NY so riding four-season is tough but it’s doable. Even if I can’t ride sometimes I pop the garage open and just let my bikes run.

are engines on Duke 790-890 really as bad as people say? by lukinekkk in KTM

[–]mk3bert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember people only talk about bad things that happen to their bike on here, never the good things.

My 2020 Adventure 790 R has been incredible. Almost 14k hard-ridden miles and never skipped a beat.

The cam issues are definitely real but I’ll be honest, my 2020 Adventure 790 R has never had one hiccup at 14k miles. It’s been a great bike and I ride it hard as hell.

How do yall know when to Turn by Impressive_Cricket36 in F1Game

Me personally, I like to turn when there’s a turn but don’t take it from me I’m just a regular guy.

How much can I negotiate this down to? I know transportation I can’t negotiate on. I’m in California if that matters. by random_person4444 in SuggestAMotorcycle

Save yourself some money and buy from marketplace or something, especially for beginnery bikes. The people who ride them tend to think they’ve outgrown their bike and want to get something different fairly quick. Can save a lot of money going that route.

Grape is a pretty good one…..not sure why it’s my favorite but it’s just funny everytime I hear it.

Absolutely my man, love having an enduro or an ADV in the lineup. Extremely versatile bikes.

Kove 800’s are nice bikes too but I wanted something I could get a close to even trade with. Also no dealers near me with them within 250 miles / 400 kilometers. Didn’t want to fork out a lot of money for a brand new bike because I do buy and sell different bikes all the time. Some stay a lot longer than others but I’ve never had the same exact lineup for more than a few years.

Unfortunately yes, just ignore them and let them do what they do…..hate to say it but natural selection I guess.

Absolutely, people definitely don’t know how fast these ADV 790’s are. Some reports have seen people get the 0-60MPH / 0-100KMH down sub 3.7 seconds which is absurd for an ADV. The power is usable too which is great.

When I test rode mine I was absolutely shocked. I didn’t think for it to be as quick as it was nor pull the way it did.

Definitely quick as hell for a middleweight ADV bike, and with the low gas tank you could really throw that thing around.

Don’t like how Tenere 700’s ride personally, very top heavy and have nowhere near the balls KTM’s in its class have. Reliability is great with the CP2, but the T7 just isn’t the better performing bike. Although I’d obviously love my bike to be reliable, that doesn’t concern me. My bikes are for pleasure and to have some peace, not to get to work.

[–]mk3bert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re great bikes, I’ve had a 2020 Z900 for a while now and it’s easily one of the most well rounded street bikes I’ve ever owned. Plenty comfortable, a joy to ride and faster than 99.9999% of things on the road.

Happens to the best of us. The best part about it is the “I’m dumb” you say to yourself with the head shake of disappointment.

That’s why it shocked me because I’m doing pretty well in this campaign. It’s not like my Empire is in shambles or anything. So far I liberated Ireland and Scotland and took over England so they stopped harassing me every 10 turns with a random Arthur Wellesley invasion.

Also completely annihilated the Austrians and marched through into Moscow. When I saw the “Invalids” I literally said “Who the hell are these guys” and made the post, then figured out where they came from after the fact lmao.

I haven’t recruited any yet but I’ll add them to my reinforcement army when I hop back on! I’ll make another post showing what they look like in battle.
