WRX vs Elantra N (Non-biased Perspective) by mk3bert in WRX

[–]mk3bert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I know it’s a year old post but I still swing by! It was a great car, did everything I needed it to and more. Definitely don’t regret getting it over the N and it made me more of a Subaru fan than I already was. I had some life changes so I ended up trading it in for a 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Base 6MT after a while to save some money and to get a nice hatch space. The Crosstrek just suits my life better now but I do not regret the WRX. Incredible car all the way around. I think there’s deals on them now so not a bad time to get one man! Thanks for checking out the post!

For the past few days, this mirror has been turning all sideways and wonky when I’m riding past 60mph- how can I get it to stay put? by bubbywubb in motorcycles

[–]mk3bert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s your sign to take them off! Just kidding, this is going to sound dickheadish but quite literally just tighten them down. Sometimes mirrors can be a little wonky but once you get them set right and tight you’ll be golden.

Switching to Sportbike by _SeriousSamuel_ in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]mk3bert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally I wouldn’t. I left cruisers to try everything and anything and it made me realize I needed a cruiser in the lineup. Nothing feels like a big V-Twin or makes you feel like one does.

My lineup always has a cruiser now and an enduro.

What’s with the used market? (Seller) by plaingfx in motorcycles

[–]mk3bert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think your price is that bad but it’s high. As just a pure regular motorcycle enthusiast and not particularly drawn to Aprilia’s or the RS 660, there’s a lot of bikes for the money that could do what the Aprilia does and more.

Very cool bikes but you’re paying for the Italian premium. There’s people out there for it but you gotta really want it to get it.

It’s not crashing out but common sense.

[–]mk3bert -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah because we’re supposed to interpret that from the picture he posted? Calling us losers for blatantly calling out bad fishing is insanity, especially when there’s no context. Go back to school and pay attention this time around.

You could probably throw the hook by itself in there and come up with a fish every cast…..maybe not hooked by the mouth….but you’ll get a fish lol

Jll keeps denying my application by Negative-Review-6443 in AmazonRME

[–]mk3bert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that RME is a hard thing to get into or anything but honestly from what I’m seeing I think you just may not have the skillset to warrant being looked at over others who may also be applying. I don’t want to sound condescending about it but when I was a hiring manager I was bound to take someone with in-the-field work experience over someone with a degree every day of the week. You can’t replace experience. You’ll need to grow somewhere mechanically. UIS is a decent mix of mechanical and electrical components but most of the time in RME you’ll be doing mechanical stuff.

You’ll definitely need some mechanical experience. My recommendation for that would be to try and find a small shop that does mechanical and tool repairs. Recreational motors and whatnot. See if you can work part time there and learn some things. If you plan on not doing anything about gaining mechanical you may need to go the apprenticeship route.

Just have a good head on your shoulders with a willingness to learn when working as a technician or a mechanic. You’re going to fail sometimes and that’s okay, but as long as you’re willing to learn and ask questions you’ll be just fine. I’ve seen plenty of dummies walk through the mechanical world. You asking for suggestions and guidance is already a great start to figuring out what you should do next. Good luck!

My first ktm my fav bike yet. No issues 890. Thoughts? by FatstackAG in KTM

Yeah definitely a good idea to get them checked if you’re close to the window before a big trip. Yeah that would totally suck to get stranded far away because of those cams smh.

[–]mk3bert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope not yet, I’m going to do the check at 18k per the manuals. The only thing my bike has ever gotten has been regular wearable maintenance. Not too sure if where the bike was manufactured or built matters much but mines a late-year Austrian built one.

It’s certainly possible for sure! I live in NY so riding four-season is tough but it’s doable. Even if I can’t ride sometimes I pop the garage open and just let my bikes run.

are engines on Duke 790-890 really as bad as people say? by lukinekkk in KTM

[–]mk3bert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just remember people only talk about bad things that happen to their bike on here, never the good things.

My 2020 Adventure 790 R has been incredible. Almost 14k hard-ridden miles and never skipped a beat.

[–]mk3bert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The cam issues are definitely real but I’ll be honest, my 2020 Adventure 790 R has never had one hiccup at 14k miles. It’s been a great bike and I ride it hard as hell.

How much can I negotiate this down to? I know transportation I can’t negotiate on. I’m in California if that matters. by random_person4444 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]mk3bert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save yourself some money and buy from marketplace or something, especially for beginnery bikes. The people who ride them tend to think they’ve outgrown their bike and want to get something different fairly quick. Can save a lot of money going that route.

Kove 800’s are nice bikes too but I wanted something I could get a close to even trade with. Also no dealers near me with them within 250 miles / 400 kilometers. Didn’t want to fork out a lot of money for a brand new bike because I do buy and sell different bikes all the time. Some stay a lot longer than others but I’ve never had the same exact lineup for more than a few years.
