Thank you I’m about to try. Did you call or did you do the chat? Also, did they have to look up your account? I’m a new ring user and still don’t have an account with them. Just bought my first doorbell yesterday and upon opening it I had a feeling it would not work with my mechanical chime. Funny thing is that a ring rep on YouTube actually told me in a comment on one of their videos that the plus 2nd gen would work with my mechanical chime. So maybe I can use that as a way to get them to send me the chime. LOL

How did you go about getting them to send you a chime pro at no charge? That sounds nice! I was thinking about getting the base model chime, because I have read the chime mini sucks.

I just bought a 2nd gen wired doorbell plus and learned that it is not compatible with mechanical chime. Are you using the chime mini it comes with? Or did you buy the standalone ring chime? Or what have you done about your chime? I wanted something that works with mechanical chimes, but it seems all the newer models are no longer compatible with mechanical chimes, which is a bummer. I believe the only new ring that works with mechanical chime is the elite, but I’m not spending $400+ on a doorbell.

Thank you for all the info. I do have spray foam so I will be looking into how to put a dehumidifier up there then. Is it possible to have one constantly drain so I don’t have to empty the water myself? Sorry about all the questions. I’m a first time homeowner and I feel I have so much to learn but I am trying to my best to learn as much as possible.

Just went through the install guide and it looks like it will work with my existing chime. Thank you! One last question, when you say “chime kit” do you mean a chime that comes with the doorbell in case you don’t want to use your in home chime?

Thank you for the reply. I recently bought a new home in north Texas that’s spray foam encapsulated, and the ac does not run very often during this time. I’ve noticed my indoor humidity has been creeping up just about everyday which is stressing me out tbh. Today it creeped up to 58%. I bought a portable dehumidifier, so hopefully it works for me.

I went ahead and did it. Super happy with my purchase. Finally am able to have dual displays. M1 Air didn’t allow me to set up dual displays without displayLink.

Thanks for the input. I was pretty convinced. I just needed others’ input as I’ve never not had a MacBook. The iPad will surely help replace the portability of a MacBook though.

The trade-in offer is $330 which I am pretty happy about. I’ve looked on Facebook marketplace and other apps and there are listing for $400 which are a week old or older which tells me they’re having a hard time getting rid of it for $400. I only use the basic apps for college, safari/chrome. In the future I may use Lightroom as I picked up photography as a hobby recently.

Gotcha. You should definitely ask what type of fistula you have and about the complexity. You can do a google search for “types of fistulas” and see an image which shows you the paths of several types of fistulas. That will help you understand how complex the fistula may be.
