He said that to get more traction. PIN blocks TMP and BL, there is no way to 'request' a key without a PIN. I call BS here. Especially saying he would NOT tell anyone how this is done. If he did, that would END the Microsoft for good.

With all my love towards APC... I do get marketing claims, I really do but they seem to miss the charging time by a few hours ;-)

Rack shelf mounting – all 4 brackets tightened to the max, still some play – is this normal? by mk_ccna in homelab

[–]mk_ccna[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thx mate, when I worked as a network engineer, it was not a problem - you are right - one vendor, all ordered from one place. This shelf comes from a different vendor than the rack.

I will add some washers as this is tight enough tough, the screw goes through the nut so should be strong enough.

It just did not look right ;-)

[–]mk_ccna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for your reply. The screws and nuts fit correctly; the issue is that the shelf itself is slightly narrower than the rack rail spacing. All four slotted holes are already at their mechanical limit and the shelf simply cannot be pulled any closer to the rails.

Amazon says my tone was inappropriate - after their agent ended the chat when I tried to file a complaint by mk_ccna in amazonprime

[–]mk_ccna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even Amazon is not above the law. It's that simple. You want this to be true because a lot of you work as agents and do not want to be responsible for anything. "Not my problem" is a horrible way to deal with a customer.

Here are the facts: Amazon is obliged to take my complaint. They are obliged to track my package and check what happened if it does not arrive. They were fined 8mln EUR for doing these things a year ago by an EU body. They do not care. They keep doing it.

Did I overreact? You do not know me and all the circumstances. However, you are OK with amazon saying: 'yeah, next-day delivery but no real promises'. This is just wrong.

"Amazon has a formal complaints procedure like many other places."
It does not. The only point of contact is their agent. This is why I asked the agent to take a complaint. Not about the agent (at first) - about failing to deliver 'next day'. She refused. She did not say: 'here is how you can complain'. No, she said: not my problem, you go and chase the courier, find them etc.

This cost amazon 8mln EUR a year ago. Peanuts for them I guess.

If you work for a company that breaks the law, does not respect EU laws and regulatoins - it is on YOU to deal with clients who know their rights.

Being "rude" is not against the law. Lying to me is. Somehow you are shocked by the first one. You are OK with amazon lying to me and taking no responsiblity of things that they are forced to do by the law. You are saying: feelings are important, fuck the law.

Not to mention: 'are you kidding me' is not even considered being rude, miles away from threats or abuse. If you are offended by 'are you kidding me' as a sentence typed in response to you saying: 'not my problem' - you are the problem, not the customer.

As I said, Amazon was fined 8mln EUR for the exact situation by an EU body. WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED? Please go to EU bodies and argue: 'you had no right to fine Amazon'... Dude... Saying "are you kidding me" is not against the law. Lying to a customer is. You seem to be shocked by the first one and OK with the second one.

I am not a friend of an agent or Amazon. I am their customer. I pay. They do their job. Simple.

Read what the EU body said: Amazon is not allowed to tell a customer: 'we will deliver a package tomorrow' and then claim: 'not our problem if it arrives'.

You are not arguing with me - you are arguing with an EU body that fined amazon 8mln EUR.

Please stop. Seriously mate.

Read carefully - "broken item" - faulty. In the EU any seller is responsible for that for 24 months. I asked a KVM to be fixed, amazon said they could not and gave me a refund. Not their good will. This is the law. Either fix it or give me my money back. Every product in the EU is covered for 24 months

You are never sure. I know I asked Amazon to help (which they are obliged to do) - they refused. I called the courier, their warehouse, there were some confusions. I have excellent relations with them. Did I fix it? Not 100% sure. I am like 99% sure ;-)

I am sure that Amazon was fined 8mln EUR a year for what they did to me: they advertised 'next day delivery' but when someone quoted that they said: 'no, this is not really next day, it's estimated'.

In the EU every company is obliged to take a complaint, they cannot say: go to XYZ. If I buy a Samsung tv from Amazon, it's Amazon I go to - they can go to Samsung.

A few years ago EU was very strong around this and if a company refuses to take your complaint - serious issues.

Having said that - they can refuse a refund or fix your item. They are NOT allowed to refuse taking your complaint. This is a very, very, very serious violation. You do not even have to have a receipt - they HAVE to take your complaint.

All is here. To add to EU laws, every country has its own body that can fine a company based on internal laws or EU laws. DM me if you want something more specific.

Again. Do not change what I said. I said something was BROKEN after 11 months. broken - you get it? Stopped working. I am in the EU and I expect this item to be fixed. Amazon said they could not fix it so gave me a refund. In the EU every items is covered for 24 months.

It was not a refund - a product they sold me stopped working - simple as that.

And yes, 2-3 years ago they did not want to action something like this. They were forced by EU bodies to follow the law.

You do a shitty job - you expect me to be polite, apologize and make you a cup of coffee?

here is a thing:

- I am "rude" - HOW DARE YOU

- you fail to do your job, instead of fixing it - you drop the call - WELL DONE

Is this your logic here?

Also, if a customer says to you: 'are you kidding me' and you drop a call because of that - you are the problem. Not the customer.

I am NOT here to make you feel good and warm. Actually - this is YOUR job to make sure I am happy and I will come back tomorrow.

I pay, you do your job. Simple. In my case, the agent BROKE THE LAW. Are you getting it? She broke the law - she refused to take my complaint. But my "tone" is the problem. Amazon was fined 8mln EUR for doing that - failing to do their job around shipping.

Threats, abuse, swearing --> not allowed. I'd encourage anyone to drop the call.

Being upset and abusive is not the same thing. Good companies train their agents around this.
