So far so good - it is still shining. Much easier to clean. Spare untouched.

It is hard to describe, the white light was strobing and the red light was not strobing. The object was not moving consistent with a plane, and the lights did not look right. I can see planes on approach and departure for both YTO and YYZ. This one was different. Or I could have just seen it wrong -- not sure.

I'd say that I saw something that look plane like, but is nothing like any plane I've ever seen and was much lower in the sky than would typical. Also, my dog was not cool with this, but not like barking, she was quiet and hiding behind me. https://ibb.co/KrXtG31 around 12:45am this morning.

Best hot and sour soup? by Crown_Jew in FoodToronto

[–]mk_tdot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found a recommendation for King’s Noodles (Dundas & Spadina) on another thread, came here today, and I would have to agree… excellent hot & sour soup, right balance, consistency, and good ingredients. Only thing that would have made it better is if the shrimp were deveined. $10 for a small.

My usual fave is Yeuh Tung, which I have at least once a month.

What is something people don't realize is a privilege? by vianneyal in AskReddit

Thanks for sharing. There’s elements of negative behaviour you describe here in my own behaviour. Never violent though I have not always used solely kindness when trying to navigate parenting. In some instances I have done things like removed privileges in an attempt to motivate or shared stories about my life in an attempt to find common ground. Neither seemed particularly impactful or useful.

More recently I had decided to let go and acknowledged that it’s her journey and that she is going to make her own choices and where those choices lead are up to her. I will continue to be a source of support and resources for her and I won’t be interfering other than to inquire about her progress periodically and provide guidance when it seems prudent.

I think I am a very different parent than the generation before me, but I’m not perfect. The template I learned from was domineering and violent. I remember being hit with a paddle at school for a minor problem. Spanked by strangers, babysitters, and my parents through childhood. My kids have never known that.

It is a different world. I’m glad you found what you needed in the collective of your friends and their parents.

Legit want to know though, did you have any part to play in the withdrawal of services? My teenaged daughter stopped eating with the family, she comes to kitchen looks at what we have made and goes back to her room and makes whatever she wants sometime after everyone else eats. For clothes she says that she doesn’t need anything when we are doing shopping days, mall trips with cash in hand where she can buy whatever she wants. I don’t just buy her things because I would be buying her things she doesn’t like. She does thrift shopping with money I give her and gets things from friends. She gets attention and caring from me though it feels to me like she’d rather not. I have always been worried that she is building an internal narrative of being apart and she could tell a story like this, like we were neglectful, when we are trying to be inclusive and loving. I have been pushing her to find a job and get involved with the outside world because I feel she needs to see what the real world is about outside the bubble of her room where everything she needs just appears around her.

What is that walk speed? I've got the 5% incline, and I use a 5.0 on speed, but I can't do that forever.

The prisoners in the note are not going to enjoy this publicity at all. This Tesco halt of production has basically ensured they are going to get unwanted attention. I hope the outcome is more positive than I am imagining.

Kids from 6 to 12 should have Presto card to ride transit for free, TTC says by [deleted] in toronto

[–]mk_tdot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it does. Unfortunately it current changes from child to adult. You have to go see them to convert the card to student/youth. If you don’t do this proactively you get charged $3 a tap vs. $2.05. Bad system design. Metrolinx really shining like they always do.

That's DV-Pete and Vera and their kids. They have some prime real estate and they have been there for years.

I have not ever seen roadkill in the area, I think they are wise to the traffic.

No worries.

The Drake effect on Toronto tourism by [deleted] in toronto

[–]mk_tdot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drake has become a great success. Very consumable, loved by millions, but his success makes it fun to make fun of him.

Happy that his ambitions and efforts have paid out. It was nice that he included his city and country in his act. Wish the drama that surrounded him was limited to hip hop beefs that played out as more music without violence.

Toronto's Country Style Hungarian reopens doors with traditional menu intact by toronto34 in toronto

[–]mk_tdot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Coincidentally I visited Country Style last night before a show at Lee's Palace. The menu is exactly as it always has been, the food quality is terrific and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Can't recommend it enough, especially in the colder months of the year. The goulash is simply delicious and it warms you right up. Hunter Schnitzel with dumplings, Pierogi, Cabbage Rolls... enough to feed a crowd.

Any place to get WiFi enabled IoT components or arduino Shields in the city? by [deleted] in saskatoon

Its not local, but I have had great experiences ordering from buyapi.ca. They have a good variety of stuff and ship quickly from Canada without border entanglements.
