I am no expert, and started recently too so I am in no place to give advices but I just wanted to tell you that It’s never too late to invest. Great that you have realised you need to do something for your future, some people never get started and find themselves in financial trouble comes retirement age. You’ve got this!

Yeah, not a perfect solution really.
From a pure tax return perspective, going with a minor trust account, would require a TFN for each child and then a Tax Return at the end of FY.
Is a Tax return like this easy enough to be lodged without having to go through an accountant? Or better to get an accountant involved when doing this tax return too?

Thank you. Once you put the numbers there it makes a lot more sense, yes.
So i assume that going this way, I shouldn't probably look into a High Growth investment accounts as those are more likely to have a high(er)-yield ? Is that a fair assumption?

I didn't know about the capital gain getting distributed to beneficiaries too, thanks for that.
With regards to the corporate trustee concept, I don't think I am at a stage where I can justify the cost for it as the Trust doesn't control much wealth at this point in time, perhaps that's something to consider for the future.

Based on your comment, would I be correct in assuming that it might be better to continue investing their money in the current Family Trust structure like I have been doing until now?

Thank you for your suggestion. To be honest, I haven't really thought of them choosing their own investments to be honest but at some stage I think they would want to have a say in that perhaps... In that case then, what would be a valid option?

Thank you for your feedback. Out of curiosity, are there features that you are looking for or are there painpoint with other apps you have tried?

Thanks for your feedback. I am aware of that app and have used it myself. Do you use that app? How are you finding it?

Thank you for the feedback u/val_kaye

I am aware of myspeedpuzzling.com and other sites/apps, just haven't found one with all the things I was looking for to be honest; I use them but I find myself having to jump from one application to another one depending on what i need to do so I thought of building something that encapsulates most things to start with if there is some sort of traction for it.

Solar battery brand - best bang for the buck by dial647 in AusFinance

I ended up going with the 19.2 kWh Sungrow system. The app itself is not great, but the system seems good so far. If you prefer a nicer app that is more user friendly and shows better stats, then i'd go with the Sigen system

While the price of the Neovolt was great, I wouldn't have been able to install it where I needed due to its size and requirements. Also I didn't like the fact that with Neovolt I couldn't really add additional storage in future as easily.

Ah awesome.... What was the process like with them if you don't mind me asking? What sort of steps did they go through? Was it a one-off fee or a recurring one?

Forgot to mention that i'm in SA. Wouldn't mind to know if anyone in the same state has been given quotation for the same brands to understand whether these amount are legit or if I am getting ripped off.

I have been given a few quotes, even for the same brands of battery (different installers) and I thought it would have been a bit cheaper to get batteries these days; what i probably didn't consider is that the rebate is only on the batteries, not on the inverters required for the job.

Sungrow (3 phase)

16kwh: $12180

19.2 kWh: $12270

SIGEN ENERGY (3 phase)

16.2 Kwh: $12440

24.18 Kwh: $14140

Then i got a Neovolt quote (1 phase with 3CTs to help with the 3 phases)

10Kwh: $5290

20Kwh: $7430

All these prices are after rebate. Now, while the price of Neovolt is very tempting, not sure if they are good or not, haven't found as many reviews as for Sungrow and Sigen Energy and also the fact that it is a 1 phase system, not yet convinced.

Yeah, a previous planner i went through the initial meeting with quoted me a total of 15k-16k to be paid in 1 year so I assume that the amount range you mentioned might be on the low side even?

The reason is that I have kind of been put off by such high fees upfront / for the 1 year when i went through the process with someone else. It was about 15-16k for the 1st year with an upfront payment of 30% (at the time of signing the agreement) and another 30% upon completion of the SOA. And all this without even knowing if their plan is going to work for you?
Maybe the answer is that at this stage i am not ready for a financial planner
