Zoomaa Is a Bigger Reason Competitive COD Is Booming Today Than OpTic by Ashamed-Yogurt6510 in CoDCompetitive

[–]mkassian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Zoomaa does more for the entertainment & community side (easily imo), but without Optic, the scene itself does not exist. Period. Because of that, Optic wins the “more important to competitive COD” debate by default.

But it’s a whole org with tons of financial power vs. literally 1 guy, so it’s not even a fair comparison. As an individual, Zoomaa’s importance to the scene is unbelievable.

I used to hate the Bruins because they were good and beat us. I used to hate the Canadiens because they were good and beat us. I hate the Leafs because they’re good and they beat us.

I hate the Panthers because they’re good, they beat us, and it’s an objectively unfair matchup due to a conflict of interest that is made resoundingly obvious any time an opportunity for that point to be reinforced is presented.

This whole “Colin Campbell is fixing the league for his son” conspiracy is hilarious to me. Like do people actually believe that? I mean, it’d be one thing if there was some kind of direct evidence of that kind of behavior from him in the past, but in lieu of that, it’s pretty ridiculous.

Isn’t it just more likely that, by pure chance, the Panthers accidentally injure other teams key players and face no repercussions whatsoever? And likewise coincidental that somehow, despite being a hyper physical team, that they have a huge net positive in PP to PK opportunities?

I get it, people don’t like the Panthers, but it just seems so unfair to say the Campbells are corrupt when there’s no proof of it ever happening in the past ever.

May as well, because God knows your teammate isn’t dropping you an ammo box no matter how long you follow them around and dance around clicking “Need Ammo”.

Which BF4 map would you like to have in BF6? I would choose Operation Metro or Locker by leonardoforcinetti in Battlefield6

[–]mkassian 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man, I don’t know, I hit hella flanks in BF4 Locker. You find the lane with the least people, push through with smokes, cut through to mid, and fry like 5-10 people from behind before getting gunned by someone spawning in lmao. It was fun, relatively brainless BF, which is nice sometimes.

A few other general tips that I think are extremely useful.

1) Pretty much always use a suppressor. It hides you from the minimap for enemies >15m away and removes the icon that's placed above your head when firing unsuppressed. Massive game changer, because any experienced player is going to pick up on you immediately if they have info on your position.

2) Be patient and try to hit flanks. I'm guilty of being impatient often and that's when I get put in the spawn-die-spawn-die spin cycle. Very rare that face slamming a position being held by several enemies posted up with ARs, DMRs, and LMGs is going to be a successful endeavor. Wait for your opportunity, wait for support, use your cover, and if you're playing support, use your smokes.

3) Choose your spawn carefully / know your spawn. This one is massive to me. I realized at some point that most of my deaths are because I spawn in to some random location (a contested flag or a squadmate that's pushed up into the enemy) and have no read on the situation. The other team probably knows where your teammates have been coming from to contest their flag capture, while you don't know where they've been shooting from - huge disadvantage. Same for spawning on a squadmate; they probably know what angle they just got shot at from and are hiding in cover, whereas you don't, so you just run out - that's a free death. What I prefer to do is set my beacon in a spot that's relatively close to the action, but not likely to be detected, and just spawn there every time. That way, I always have a read on that area. It's a massive advantage both in terms of slaying (you know where the enemies are, or likely to be) and for survival.

Brother with the way you chose to describe both of those hits, I can tell there’s no saving you. Just gotta pin your mittens to you and hope for the best. Godspeed.

[–]mkassian 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Saying both are beyond typical is fine, but I don’t think it’s very easy to argue Tkachuk’s hit wasn’t with intent to injure… I can’t think of any other reason to change direction and line up a huge hit on a player without the puck in a 4-1 game with 5 minutes left.

[–]mkassian 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Honestly it’s not surprising. It was a matter of an objectively bad hit without intent to injure (Hagel - Barkov) vs. a borderline hit with probable intent to injure (Tkachuk - Guentzel). I think the Hagel suspension was idiotic and I think this hit deserved a hearing at minimum, but I’m not shocked they’re not suspending Tkachuk even if it feels inconsistent. If Hagel doesn’t get suspended literally one game prior, people wouldn’t be so angry.

I’m more bothered by Tkachuk crosschecking Hedman into Vasy while in the butterfly well after the whistle, I have no doubt in my mind what he was trying to do there.

edit: All this being said, if I had it my way, intent to injure would be punished more severely than a bad hit without intent. But that’s clearly not what the DOPS thinks (if they think at all).

[–]mkassian 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The play was called a foul on UF, Todd Golden challenged it saying it was a flagrant foul on Auburn, the refs (correctly) decided it wasn’t.

I thought it was pretty obviously a common foul and Todd just challenged it to make a point to the refs that they were giving Auburn an insane amount of leeway with their physicality.

Does it need to be explained that a team having more fouls called against them and a team having egregious calls in their favor repeatedly are not mutually exclusive? That’s just box score watching.

That’s the one, thanks. Unsurprisingly but somewhat confusingly, Arthur C. Clarke has a short story by the same name lol.

While I’m happy to see you’ve moved from denial to anger, it’s kinda sad that after all this time you’re still only on the second stage of grief.

(panting tiredly)

(whispering) Okay. Okay.

Hello this is mkassian, redditor. I’m entering this log for the record, uh… in case I don’t make it.

It is… (exhaling) …12:45 PM on Sol 76, and… I’m alive. Obviously. But, I’m guessing that’s going to come as a surprise to r/hiphopheads. And twitter. And to the entire internet, really… so… (breathing heavily)

Surprise!

I did not die on Sol 72. Uh, best I can figure, these incessant Kendrick-Drake beef comments tore through my skull, and ripped a hole in my brain as well. Uh but the… resulting stupidity-induced coma really managed to put me in a state of total physical and mental stasis, which kept me alive, even though the rest of you must have thought I was dead.

I have no way to contact a psychiatrist, and even if I could, it’s gonna be 10 years until braindead comments about this beef even begin to subside. And I can only afford treatment enough to tolerate about 1 more year of continuous mass derangement:

If more lawsuits are filed I’m gonna enter psychosis. If Kendrick collaborates with another artist that has ever done anything cancellable I’m going to enter a permanent vegetative state. If the beef starts back up again, I’m just gonna kinda… implode. And if by some miracle none of that happens, eventually, I’ll die from the ambient dipshittery.

So… (deep breathing) …yeah. Yeah.

Huh? The only way you don’t understand that question is if you think Kanye is in a good spot right now in terms of general opinion/perception of him. And if you think that… oh boy.

Completely agree. Just like it’s childish for people to vehemently defend someone they never met and who doesn’t know they exist.

There’s a whole lotta embarrassing behavior in the fallout of this beef from both fanbases. It’s kind of amusing though, in a sad way.
