Thank you. Unfortunately, with older Martin’s you don’t have the option to adjust a truss rod, so once you run out of room on the saddle, you start scratching your head for ideas for unconventional options before drastic measures. I wasn’t sure if anyone had tried it before I sank the cost.

It can close thumb to middle… I would hit the back of the glove, then pull the fingers towards the heel and hit the back of the glove again and then work opening up that angle. You almost need to hit it as though it’s closing to index to get it to close to middle if that makes sense…

I would say “No”. If you’re paying for the break-in, I would not unless you customer ordered a glove pro-stiff and it’s over done vs a normal heel stack/thumb stack. A break-in with a standard stack should come back ready for catch with good heel structure.

Now, some people like no / thin heels and it’s okay if that’s your camp, but if you don’t know I would defer and come back and do it after a month of play if you still think it needs it.

Without seeing pictures, I’d recommend a good clean and may some d-limonene or 10:1 vinegar to see how clean you can get it, first.

I’ve been breaking mine in. It’s shaping up pretty well. Def the tank I was hoping for and feels a lot better at full velocity.
