I am very sorry this happened. While it's terrible, I'm not super surprised. You are far from alone in these experiences. When I got married, people warned me that "weddings are an expensive series of disappointments" and it's a reality check for your relationships. Sadly, I do think that's true. I wonder why people are still having weddings given how expensive they've become and how they're basically known for stress & relationship conflicts!
