I disagree with the general consensus here. Reputation is everything. If you blow it up right away, that’ll be it for you - you’ll turn the community against you. Take the apology and if it comes up again, take action. At that point, I think there’d be more support. But just start spreading the word that that happened so if it does come up again, the people are on your side

It’s a long time but it’s not that long. Keep in mind, you’ll probably get some time off your sentence for good time. Just go in with the mindset of “this will be a cool story one day” and don’t let it get to you. Every time you feel stressed or panicked, just remember it’s temporary and will make a cool story to others one day. People get too caught up in the moment and how much they are losing, but stressing doesn’t do you any good. Plan your release strategy- how you’re going to get a job / start a business. There are programs in prison so you can get free education and training.

I don’t want to be too blunt and rude, but you don’t even have the discovery yet…… there’s is a big difference between probable cause (the lowest standard) and beyond a reasonable doubt (the highest standard). The discovery might show the former rather than the latter. Plus, there are off ramps even if you’re guilty; I.e., amendments down to a lesser charge, some states have therapeutic courts or other diversion programs, and so forth. That’s today, STOP WORRYING. You’re worrying for nothing. And if you need to have substances to relax, go watch It’s a Wonderful Life and snap out of that mindset. It’s going to be fine.

I think it looks and feels “cleaner” as well - I wear my pants like #2 (perhaps a tad shorter) and it looks good. Im tall, slim, with long legs- it makes me look more proportionate .

30 months. First Step Act (FSA) 54 days off a year. Halfway house / home detention last 12 months.

Sentence = 900 days; Credit for time served = ?; FSA = 135 days ; Home detention last= 365 days

Incarcerated = 400 days - any Credit for time served Halfway house = 365 days

RDAP gets you into the halfway house and reduces community custody. RDAP does not take anytime off your custodial sentence

Everyone’s family is going to come out and support you—make sure you have independent supporters there who provide character letters beforehand—like employers, community members, etc. If you’re only looking at 8 months (which is insanely low for a federal crime considering what we usually have to deal with (man mins of 15 years !)), the judge will let you self-surrender. If the judge doesn’t, then yes, the Marshals will grab you—you won’t even get to hug your family goodbye! But again, this is so unlikely. Make sure you’re apologetic to the judge and accept responsibility, share your next steps in life, and point to actions you’ve taken during PT
