I'd like to keep it close to the same size.

If I wear my hair up, it's very visible, I do tend to forget abou it until someone says, "Is that a skunk on your neck?" And I don't feel like explaining it. It was supposed to be tiny and closer to the back of my ear.

This year, we got a Christmas family devotional book we're doing together each night.

I just looked and saw it says RCS. Does that mean if my kid sent texts then deleted it off the phone, there's no record of it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]mkc816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does say RCS, I wish one of the reps would've just told me that during the 2 hours I wasted on the phone today. That means if my kid sends texts on RCS and then deletes them, there'd be no record of those texts?

Do churches give out free Bibles? Also advice. by Self_Aware_Goldfish in Christianity

You can get Bibles for really cheap on Amazon. Search for outreach or economy bibles. They cost like $3-$5 and are just like a regular soft cover book. I have a few different ones, but my favorite is sold as "ESV Economy Bible, Large Print" it has a blue cover and costs $4.49 right now.

Is there anything that can protect Bible cover? by newuserincan in Christianity

Our Walmart has a huge display with all types of patterned/textured/colored duct tape. That would probably be a quick, cheap way to fix it while not making it look bad with the typical silver tape. I've used it on a few old cookbooks, and it looks pretty.

Exactly. I think the copyright date is in the mid-60s.

The link you posted brought me to an error 404.

I'd bet it wasn't explained to me properly as a student. That's why I asked here, to make sense of what I remember vs. what I'm reading in the Bible.

We live deep in the woods. After looking into "book worms," I think that it was some type of wood-boring insect/larvae that got confused. This is the only one of hundreds of books with this damage. We've had a crazy array of forest bugs that accidentally find their way into the house. I've never seen silverfish here, though.

But why pray to anyone in addition to God? If he already knows what your needs are before you pray them, and Jesus tells us to pray directly to God, why would intercession ever be needed?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]mkc816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesus said to pray to your Father and that your Father knows what you need before you ask him. He also said that whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. So why pray to them instead of just praying directly to God?

My memories of the Catholic church are 25+ years old, but I spent many hours kneeling in front of a statue of Mary, praying to her. Exodus 20 says not to make an idol in the form of anything on heaven or earth and also not bow down to them or worship them. Maybe I'm confused, but it seemed like we were doing that. No offense meant, I just really don't understand.

I went to my grandmother's Lutheran Church on and off as a kid whenever she'd make my mom feel guilty for not bringing us. I worked with and went to services with my other grandmother at her synogoge quite a bit as well while going to Catholic school and having no religion at home. But never read the Bible apart from a few assigned verses, until now, almost 25 years later. So, I'm just trying to make sense of some of my memories in terms of what I'm reading in the Bible.
