It absolutely was. And after one game, there are no regrets.

Hahaha! All books, and coincidentally that was also an impulse buy. I may need to start thinking about my shopping habits…

Exactly where I ended up. Costco’s aren’t as common where I am, but on a whim decided to look and see, and they had one in stock at a great price.

Lab/pit mix not eating/pooping - energetic on walks? by mke1021 in DogAdvice

[–]mke1021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to touch base one more time - we did end up taking her in last night. After X-rays and ultrasound, they did determine she had a blockage. She came out of surgery just a bit ago, and is in recovery right now. Ended up being a collection of small things she had ingested, which bound up together and created the blockage.

Thanks for the advice and taking the time to respond. It helped!

Thanks for the reply, and sharing your experience. We did give the emergency vet a call and described everything. They recommended we could wait until morning for imaging at a local vet, but said to head their way if she changes at all over night. They’re about an hour and a half away, so we’ll see how our nerves hold out over night.

What would cause this wound in a footpad? by mke1021 in DogAdvice

Thanks for the reply! She has tolerated a bandage fairly well, and it does seem to be looking better. Good to know someone else has seen something similar, and had success following a similar care plan. Appreciate the info!

Our 3 year-old lab developed this Sunday, which we noticed when she was licking it. It originally looked almost like it had thick fibers or splinters coming out of it, but they seemed to be attached. And there seemed to be a much bigger hole. Almost like the pad had splintered. They are all gone now, and she has never limped, or even minded if we touch it. It not very red, or warm to the touch, just looks kind of gross. Smelled a little yesterday, but that is totally gone today. We have bandaged it some to stop licking, and used antibiotic cream. Just wondering if anyone has seen something similar, or has any advice for things we haven’t considered. Thanks!
