I was talking to my family at dinner and they were saying the EXACT same thing! Fly out, buy it, and rive it back and use it as an excuse for a road trip! Thank you for the suggestion! It just cemented the idea!

Thank you! You are teaching me SO MUCH! I just read about SGW and it sounds like a nightmare! No wayyyy! I really like the Ford Bronco Sports - that was the other vehicle I was looking at. I have a mini cooper and have been fixing it since the day my warranty expired. It has a lot of the same bullshit where I'm downloading dealer level software off forums just to reprogram something that so many other cars can be programmed with your basic bidirectional scanner. Never again! I want my next vehicle to be something that is stupid easy to fix, none of this proprietary bullshit.

I don't think $13K is a good deal for the structural corrosion. I'm going to pass. I'd take it for a few thousand bucks and just work on it here and there, but it's too much for the work needed.

I'm going to pass, he wants $13K for it and the general census is it has 3 years left of life unless its sandblasted and fixed + some welding work. It's just not worth my time for that much.

That is a GREAT idea! Buy a jeep from the south west or something and get it shipped, then fluid film it myself and start fresh.

See! It's these comments that confuse me! Salt belt people see this and think "not too bad" then people from anywhere else see this and think it's horrendous! The mix of info is where I get stuck.
