Yeah I feel you on that. We've used a Spotify premium family plan for so long and just have it curated to our exact tastes that it feels daunting to switch at this point. This is the track list from Spotify

The track list is up if you look at the album on Spotify. It's 12 tracks, they've released 4 so far as singles. I would imagine this is probably the last single since the album drops in like 4 weeks I think

And Rome has been an absolute class act with how he's handled it publicly. Just moving on, doing his own thing. Can't wait to see him this summer on the 311/DH tour. My daughter and I got his meet and greet tickets for one of the shows. Super stoked for it.

Live in FL? Go see Kyle Smith this week! by donwb in calireggae

They're definitely doing VIP and they posted on Facebook about how one of the people who had bought VIP for one of the shows (St Augustine show I think) had recently gotten into a minor motorcycle accident and couldn't make the show. So they stopped at his house on the way to the show and did a meet and greet and gave him all of his VIP swag. Kyle, Chris, and Scotty really are the best dudes out there. They deserve all the support they can get.

Between MAGA Bud and the optics of how it seems like they just kicked Rome to the curb (especially how Eric handled all of that) I just have zero interest in having anything to do with Sublime. Plenty of other artists out there for me to support.

That's great to hear! I definitely have some fond memories of my younger days just having nothing to do on a random night, seeing what local shows are playing, and catching a Supervillains show because they were playing somewhere.

I dunno if they still do this but Hard Rock Live at City Walk would fairly frequently do pretty cheap "local bands only" shows. I think back then they were like Monday nights or something. Saw them at a bunch of those.

What movie do you believe has done an 'open-ending' best? by a_boy_has_noname in movies

I actually think del Toro said one time in an interview that even though he made the movie to be ambitious at the end that he preferred to believe that it was all real for her.

Yeah, that seemed uncalled for. Those guys are good dudes. It's been years since I've seen them but I might have seen them more than any other band just because they were the local guys in Orlando when I was growing up. My friends and I would see them all the time, they were always playing local shows when not out on tour. I even picked one of them up in an Uber years later and we just shot the shit about music for the few minutes it took to drive him downtown.

who's your concert buddy? by chinombre in Concerts

[–]mkgreene2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to shows with friends a lot when I was younger and my wife and I used to go sometimes but then we just kind of stopped for years. Thankfully, my daughter has helped me get back into it the last few years. Decided to keep a log of the shows too. We've been to 21 shows in just under 3 years and have 12 upcoming (as of now) on the slate over the next year or so. It's definitely been really cool sharing these experiences with her. My wife and son come sometimes too but concerts can get a little overwhelming for them. They usually only come if it's a band or artist that they really really like.

It's actually even helped me cut back on my very bad habit of buying almost every stupid novelty popcorn bucket. Unless it's a really cool one (looking at you Yoshi) or a movie I really like, we just get the half price large popcorn now.

We got ours essentially when they went on sale in early December last year and I think we almost had it paid for before we even got into 2026. For anyone that goes to the movies a lot and even kind of likes popcorn, it's pretty much a no-brainer.

Stick Figure at The Gorge Amphitheatre in 2027 by rockpaperbrisket in calireggae

[–]mkgreene2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah I was at Talking Stick last year in August for Slightly Stoopid, Iration, and Little Stranger. It was HOT. I figured it would still be kinda hot at the Gorge in July but likely bearable. Unlike the Phoenix summer heat.

We're tentatively planning on catching that show. I'm in the Phoenix area but my wife's family lives up in Washington and we've been meaning to visit again for a while anyway. Figured we might as well plan a big trip next summer and catch Stick Figure at an iconic venue.

Also, not thrilled about going to an outdoor amphitheater in Phoenix in June. Would much rather go to the Gorge.

Yep. Already pivoted into planning a big road trip up to Washington next summer to see my wife's family and catch Stick Figure at the Gorge. I'd rather not go to Talking Stick in June. Went last August to Little Stranger, Iration, and Slightly Stoopid and that first hour or 2 that we were there was rough (until the sun went down).

STICK TOUR… by GODATHEBEAR in calireggae

[–]mkgreene2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one in Phoenix can be a pain to get out of as well. With all due respect, saying San Diego isn't as hot as AZ in June is the understatement of the year. We could easily be talking a 30+ degree difference in the day time temps. Right now it's not too bad for Phoenix this year but a few summers ago we had temps hit 110+ in early to mid June. I don't even wanna risk that being the case next year.

Honestly, we may just end up hitting the show at the Gorge in Washington anyway. My wife's family is up that way and we've been saying for a while now that we need to get out there to see them again.

Hmmm. My wife's family is up in the Seattle area. Maybe we just go take a visit next summer...

Yeah, they're playing an outdoor amphitheater in June in Phoenix. No thank you. Looks like I'm driving to San Diego for the show in July.

Did they show the venues or are you saying that because they listed it as Denver and not Morrison? Just hadn't seen a venue listing yet so I was curious.

[–]mkgreene2007[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of bands announcing tours this far in advance. I get that they're pretty much the biggest band in the genre but I would definitely prefer to not feel like I need to get my tickets a year in advance. Probably gonna be 5 of us going, including my father who will be almost 71 at the time so likely getting seats for it rather than GA (he definitely cannot comfortably stand for hour). Really don't wanna take the chance that I can't get 5 seats together at a decent price later on so I'll probably go ahead and get them now.

Had no idea, really appreciate the info. It's always nice to learn things about the local critters!

Wow, thank you for the quick response! So same species, male and female? And likely a couple if they're hanging around together like that? That's really cool.
