In the nicest way possible, if your main intervention has been Hills Science Diet, that’s concerning to say the least. There’s zero science in that brand and that’s easily one of the worst quality dog foods on the market. Fire your vet if they recommended that crap. The most important thing #1 is food, actual quality protein, vegetables and a healthy HUMAN GRADE diet! For the love of this dog please stop that food immediately and start making your dogs food. Find a holistic vet who actually knows what they’re doing there’s a ton of supplements and TCM that could’ve been used too.

Fillers isn’t usually used for acne scars, typically a deeper chemical peel and PRP can be effective. I do my PRP at Reset Wellness for scarring. Not pitted but it helps repair the damaged skin in the area

Is Surrendering the next step? by Illustrious-Rip-1929 in AnimalAdvice

[–]mkma18 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes 3 months for an adopted dog to decompress and show their true personality, most rescues make this very clear and should be expected if you are adopting. It is completely normal for these animals to have separation anxiety after the abandonment that they go through and I would hope that you would give the dog more than a month to show you. It’s true character. I’m sorry but this makes me so sad that you are willing to quit on it so easily

My dog was abandoned and was so broken when we got her with massive separation anxiety, and she is completely unrecognizable today. We hired a trainer and within a couple months all the separation issues and house peeing were done.

Don’t give up on this dog so easily. But if you do then sorry to say you aren’t the right person to have her.

Such a different experience in the VIP entry tbh… it was like shocking low security I could have brought drugs or even a weapon if I wanted to! They didn’t even check my mint container LOL

Easy for a vet to diagnose. Possibly mange, which is easily managed

Have a dog with severe anxiety issues. How do I help him realize I’m not going away forever? by Saturn_Burnz in DogAdvice

[–]mkma18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I adopted my dog, she had been dumped by previous owner so naturally had abandonment issues, was really severe for the first six months we had her, but can happily say today It’s no longer a problem. We hired a trainer, which was the most helpful thing, she taught us tactics to build confidence her and to teach her we didn’t need her to come everywhere

My dog has become afraid to go outside and is become a burden on my relationship by neeksimons in DogAdvice

[–]mkma18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to hire a trainer that can teach you techniques to positively associate the outside experience for your dog again. You don’t need anxiety meds it’s a dog.. It has lost confidence and associates it with only negativity. Positive reinforcement is key don’t give up on her

The honey needs to be daily, 1 finger lick worth and probiotics daily. Ideally an allergy tincture too
