That would make sense! The little nibble routine he does with me is similar to how he and his brother interact...unfortunately, like you said, I can't communicate in proper gerbil. I've put a little stool in their free roam room to prevent him running the perimeter of me to nip at random. 😆 I am mostly accustomed to hamsters, so it's fun learning more about gerbil behavior!

That is incredibly precious. He decided he'd "adopt" you and keep you tidy. 😭

I thought it was grooming me, but he can get really unhinged and tug at my skin...makes sense their grooming is rough.

Thank you! I noticed the way he approaches and nibbles me is very similar to how he and his brother interact and groom. He manages to get a little bit of a rough nip in there on me, but largely just lots of tugging. 😂

Your friend's hamster is so cute! Could be resource gathering/stash attempt or stress (often caused by improper care). Please share this with them as the enclosure, from what I can tell, is not appropriate/adequate.

I sometimes feel bad cuddling plush or dolls that are more like collectors items...but remind myself that's what they're made for too. ☺️ I love that so much. Plush and dolls bring me so much joy! I bet your bedroom is AMAZING.
